Jidir Plain
The Jidir Plain or Jydyr Plain ( az, Cıdır düzü (Jidir Duzi), ) is a plain in the southern part of Shusha, Azerbaijan. The name literally translates as ''horse racing field'' from Azerbaijani referring to the tradition of holding horse racing games in the times of the Karabakh Khanate. Location The western part of Shusha rises 1,800 meters and the eastern part 1,400 meters above sea level. The Jidir Plain is located in the southern relatively flat yet higher part of Shusha. This meadow overlooks the valley and the Dashalty gorge through which the Dashalty river flows 200 meters below. A trail on the edge of the Jidir Plain leads to Girkh Pillakan (''40 steps''), a forty step path which in turn leads down to the Dashalty gorge and ''Khazina Galasy'' ("Treasure Castle") cave by the river. Tokay Mammadov
Tokay Habib oglu Mammadov ( az, Tokay Həbib oğlu Məmmədov; July 18, 1927, Baku, Azerbaijan SSR – May 2, 2018, Baku, Azerbaijan) was the eminent sculptor-monumentalist of Azerbaijan, People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (1973), corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1975), Honored Arts Worker of the Azerbaijan SSR (1962), Professor (1977). Mir Mohsun Navvab
Mir-Mohsun Navvab ( az, Mir Möhsün Nəvvab) (1833, in Shusha – 1918, in Shusha) occupies a prominent place in the history of Azerbaijani culture as the last representative of the old traditional school of science, arts and literature. Navvab was versatile person of his time. He is known as a poet, artist, music historian, astronomer, carpenter, chemist and mathematician. Navvab was born in 1833 in Shusha and spent all his life in this city. His life and works reflect a period of history, when Azerbaijan was on the turning point of old and new, traditional and novel trends in culture and general way of life.
