Gratiot Township was a civil township of Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. Located in the northeast corner of the county, the township's eastern and southern border was with Grosse Pointe Township along Mack Road (now Mack Avenue). The northern border was the Macomb County line, and the western border was with Hamtramck Township. Harper Woods is a city in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The city had a population of 15,492 at the 2020 census. Harper Woods is a northeastern suburb of Metro Detroit and shares its southern and western border with the city of Detroit. Etymology According to the city's website, Harper Woods was so named because it was then a wooded area and because its main thoroughfare was Harper Avenue (named for Walter Harper, founder of Harper Hospital in Detroit). Greenfield is a former civil township of Wayne County, Michigan; it was created from a portion of neighboring Springwells Township in 1833. Greenfield eventually encompassed the survey township T1S R11E. It even had its own police force. Eastland Center was an enclosed shopping mall located in the city of Harper Woods, an inner-ring suburb of Detroit, Michigan, United States. Opened in 1957, the mall has been expanded several times since. K&G Fashion Superstore and Shoppers World serve as anchor stores, with four vacant anchors left by Sears, Target, Burlington, and Macy's.
