Priory Hospital
The Priory Hospital, Roehampton, often referred to as The Priory, is a private mental health hospital in South West London. It was founded in 1872 and is now part of the Priory Group, which was acquired in 2011 by an American private equity firm, Advent International. The Priory has an international reputation and, because of the number of celebrities who have sought treatment there, widespread coverage in the press. The hospital treats mild to moderate mental health issues, such as stress and anxiety, through outpatient treatments such as cognitive behavioural therapy as well as in-patient care for more severe psychiatric illness such as depression, psychotic illness, addictions or eating disorders. The Pines, Putney
The Pines is a Grade II listed house in Putney in the London Borough of Wandsworth, it was home to the poets Algernon Charles Swinburne and Theodore Watts-Dunton. Location The building is at 9 - 11 Putney Hill, south of the Upper Richmond Road, Transport for London bus stop Putney Station (Stop H) is outside. History and residents The building was built circa 1870 as a pair of four-storey townhouses. Theodore Watts-Dunton moved in during 1879 with his two sisters, brother in-law, and nephew. Watts-Dunton took in Algernon Charles Swinburne until Swinburne's death in 1909. Watts-Dunton and Swinburne are seen in an image at the property in 1909 and a blue plaque erected by the London County Council on the house in 1926 reads "Algernon Charles Swinburne (1837–1909) poet, and his friend Theodore Watts-Dunton (1832–1914) poet, novelist, critic, lived and died here". Location The building is located on the south side of Putney Bridge road at number 289, on the corner with Atney road. The Grand (previously The Grand Theatre) is a Grade II listed building on St John's Hill, near Clapham Junction in Battersea, South London. It was designed by Earnest Woodrow and was first opened in 1900 as The New Grand Theatre of Varieties. The theatre was built for a consortium which was led by the well-known music hall artistes Dan Leno, Herbert Campbell, Harry Randall, and Fred Williams. Fairacres is a Grade II listed four-storey apartment block at Roehampton Lane, Roehampton, London. It was built in 1936 by the architects Anthony Minoprio (1900–1988) and Hugh Spencely (1900–1983), for the property developer Charles Kearley.
