Goran Orešić
Goran Orešić (born 28 April 1975) is a former professional tennis player from Croatia. Biography Orešić played in two Davis Cup ties for the Croatian team, both in 1996. He debuted in the reverse singles of a tie against Ukraine, with his win over Sergei Yaroshenko securing a 5–0 scoreline. His other appearance came in the World Group qualifier against Australia in Split, where he was beaten by Mark Philippoussis. On the ATP Tour he twice featured in the singles main draw of the Croatia Open Umag, as a qualifier in 1995 and 1996. As a doubles player he made the quarter-finals of the Zagreb Indoors in 1996 and 1997. He is a former coach of Croatian player Ivo Karlović, who was his childhood friend and former doubles partner. His time as coach included Karlović's win over top seed Lleyton Hewitt at the 2003 Wimbledon Championships. Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis. It is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from competing countries in a knock-out format. Sergei Yaroshenko (born 6 April 1977) is a Ukrainian former professional tennis player. Yaroshenko, a left-handed player from Nova Kakhovka, reached a best singles world ranking of 356 and was a member of the Ukraine Davis Cup team between 1996 and 2005. Mark Anthony Philippoussis ( ; born 7 November 1976) is an Australian former professional tennis player of Greek and Italian descent. Philippoussis' greatest achievements are winning two Davis Cup titles with Australia in 1999 and 2003, winning the deciding rubber in the final of each. The Croatia Open (currently sponsored by Plava laguna) is a men's ATP tennis tournament held in Umag, Croatia that is part of the 250 series of the ATP Tour. The tournament began in 1990 when it was part of Yugoslavia, and is the oldest tennis tournament in Croatia. It began as the Yugoslavia Open and has been played every year since. It is played on outdoor red clay courts. Carlos Moyá has won the tournament a record five times; he also holds the record for the most consecutive wins at three. His most recent win was in 2007. Zagreb Indoors
The Zagreb Indoors (currently sponsored by PBZ) was a men's tennis event on the ATP Tour held in the Croatian capital of Zagreb. In 1996 and 1997 the tournament was named Croatian Indoors. From 2009 until 2015, it was a part of the ATP 250 Series and offered 250 ranking points. The tournament was played on a fast and hard indoor surface (RuKort) and featured both men's singles and men's doubles tournament. The Zagreb Indoors was held for the first time in nine years in 2006. The tournament was an ATP International Series tournament from 2006 to 2008. His height of 211 cm (6 ft 11 in) makes him the joint tallest ranked tennis player in history, along with Reilly Opelka. He has won eight ATP singles titles between 2007 and 2016.
