Golf In Dubai Championship
The Aviv Dubai Championship was a professional golf tournament held on the Fire course at the Jumeirah Golf Estates, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The tournament was slotted into the 2020 European Tour, 2020 season as the penultimate event, with the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, Dubai following the week after on the Earth course at the same venue. It was originally intended to be a one-off event. Antoine Rozner won the inaugural event with a 25-under-par 263 total. He shot a final round 64 to jump ahead of overnight leader Andy Sullivan (golfer), Andy Sullivan; who shot a 61 in the first round. The event returned in the 2021 European Tour, 2021 season and was sponsored by Aviv Clinics. Again it was the penultimate event to the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai. Andy Sullivan (golfer)
Andrew Michael Sullivan (born 19 May 1987) is an English professional golfer who currently plays on the European Tour. Amateur career Sullivan had a successful amateur career before turning professional. He won the individual title in the Tailhade Cup in Argentina in 2010, and won the 2011 New South Wales Medal in Australia. Sullivan's biggest win as an amateur came at the 2011 Scottish Amateur Stroke Play Championship. Collegiate career After growing up in Pinner England and going to Aldenham School, Wallace attended Jacksonville State University, in Northeast Alabama, as a freshman in the 2010–11 season before turning professional. Michaël Lorenzo-Vera (born 28 January 1985) is a French professional golfer. Career Lorenzo-Vera was born in Bayonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques in South-West France. After turning professional in 2005, Lorenzo-Vera played on the Alps Tour, one of Europe's third tier development tours. Bernd Klaus Wiesberger (; born 8 October 1985) is an Austrian professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and the LIV Golf Invitational Series. The 2021 European Tour was the 50th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 13th and final edition of the Race to Dubai. The Race to Dubai was won by Collin Morikawa, becoming the first American player to do so. Matti Schmid was named Rookie of the Year. The DP World Tour Championship is a golf tournament on the European Tour and is the climax of the DP World Tour Rankings. It is contested on the Greg Norman-designed Earth course at the Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The title sponsor is DP World, based in Dubai. The tournament was first held in 2009 when the Order of Merit was replaced by the Race to Dubai. It is contested by the leading 50 players in the DP World Tour Rankings at the start of the tournament. 2020 European Tour
The 2020 European Tour was the 49th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 12th edition of the Race to Dubai. The COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on the season, with many tournaments being rescheduled or cancelled. All four major championships were affected; The Open Championship was cancelled, and the Masters Tournament, U.S. Open and PGA Championship were moved to dates much later in the year. After a three-month hiatus following the Qatar Masters in early March, the tour resumed with a much changed schedule in July.
