Glumsø
Glumsø is a railway town, with a population of 2,121 (1.January 2022), located on the southern part of Zealand in Denmark. Until 1.January 2007 it was the seat of Suså Municipality. Glumsø Station is located in Glumsø, serving the Sydbanen line. The station was heavily redesigned in late 2009. Before being redesigned it used to serve German ICE trains on the Copenhagen-Hamburg line, although ICE trains now just pass through. Næsbyholm
Næsbyholm is a manor house and estate located east of Tybjerg Lake, between Sorø and Glumsø, in Næstved Municipality, some southwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. Since 1610, Næsbyholm and Bavelse have had the same owners. The three-winged Renaissance architecture, Dutch Renaissance-style main building was reconstructed after fires in 1932 and 1947, incorporating elements from 1585. It is now used as a venue for weddings, conferences and other events. The scenic park was laid out in the 18th century. Suså Municipality
Until January 1, 2007 Suså was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the former Storstrøm County in the southern part of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in south Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 145 km2, and had a total population of 8,529 (2005). Its last mayor was Poul Erik Sørensen, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Glumsø. Christian Frederik Bielke
Christian Frederik Bielke (8 May 167014 September 1709) was a Danish military officer. He was the son of Admiral Henrik Bielke. He was from 1673 to 1709 the owner of Næsbyholm at Glumsø. Early life Bielke was born on 8 May 1670, the son of Admiral Henrik Bielke (1615–1683) and Edel Christoffersdatter Ulfeldt (1630–76). Career In 1688, Bielke was a '' fændrik'' in the Royal Life Guards. In 1690, he was a second lieutenant in a Guards Battalion in English service in Ireland. Later that same year he was promoted to first lieutenant and in 1691 to captain. In 1693–94, he served with the Royal danois and was wounded in the Battle of Neerwinden. In September he and Christian Gyldenløve returned to Denmark, where he was promoted to major and put in charge of a battalion in Oldenburg. Sydbanen
Sydbanen (meaning 'the South Track') is a government-owned railway in Denmark. Technically, the line connects Ringsted with Nykøbing Falster, from which it branches to Gedser and Rødbyhavn. In practice, Ringsted is not the terminal station, so the line is often said to continue to Copenhagen. The railway is part of the Vogelfluglinie from Copenhagen to Hamburg. On Sydbanen's southwestern end at Rødby, a Scandlines ferry line exists to the German coastal town of Puttgarden, from where the Lübeck–Puttgarden railway and Lübeck–Hamburg railway lead to Hamburg. The Fehmarn Belt Tunnel, to be completed in 2028, will replace the ferry service. From 2020 until 2028 trains go only to Nykøbing, with frequent closures due to rebuilding. The line is being upgraded to ERTMS, (Køge-)Næstved-Nykøbing in 2021, and the rest in 2028. Furthermore, 55 km of new tracks are being laid, to smooth out curves, allowing for 200 km/h when done. The Intercity Express (commonly known as ICE ()) is a system of high-speed trains predominantly running in Germany.
