Glaring Through Oblivion
''Glaring Through Oblivion'' is a 2011 book of poetry written by Serj Tankian, the American lead singer of the band System of a Down. It is his second book of poetry, after ''Cool Gardens'' (2002). ''Glaring Through Oblivion'' was published by HarperCollins Publishers and printed in China, and released on March 22, 2011. Serj Tankian (born August 21, 1967) is an Armenian-American singer, musician, songwriter, political activist and entrepreneur. He is best known as the lead vocalist, primary lyricist, keyboardist, and occasional rhythm guitarist of heavy metal band System of a Down, which was formed in 1994. Sako Shahinian ( hy, Սաքո Շահինյան; born 1980) is an American-Armenian illustrator whose artwork has been featured in System of a Down projects. Biography Sako Shahinian is an artist designer with a multi disciplinary background. He believes good design with purpose can bring positive change to the world. ''Cool Gardens'' is a poetry book by the lead singer of the band System of a Down, Serj Tankian. It was published by MTV Books and was released on October 1, 2002. It is a collection of seven to eight years of Tankian's reflections on life, and features artwork by fellow Angeleno, Sako Shahinian. The poetry, like the songs of System of a Down, consists of a reflection of societies and people's wrongs. It portrays what people do to themselves and the control others try to hold over them. The book has received much praise in the artistic community. System Of A Down
System of a Down (also known as SoaD or simply System) is an Armenian-American heavy metal band formed in Glendale, California, in 1994. Since 1997, the band has consisted of Serj Tankian (lead vocals, keyboards); Daron Malakian (guitar, vocals); Shavo Odadjian (bass, backing vocals); and John Dolmayan (drums), who replaced original drummer Andy Khachaturian. ''Imperfect Harmonies'' is the second studio album by Armenian-American singer Serj Tankian. The album was released on September 21, 2010 through Reprise Records and Serjical Strike Records. Release and promotion ''Imperfect Harmonies'' was originally scheduled to be released on September 7, 2010, but was later pushed back two weeks to September 21. The paper manufacturing plant that Tankian selected to print the album's booklet ran out of tree-free paper and needed more time to obtain more of the material. Tankian is environmentally conscious and researched this type of paper on his own. Other releases by Tankian that use tree-free paper include his first solo effort ''Elect the Dead'', and '' Hypnotize'' and '' Mezmerize'', the last two releases by his band System of a Down.
