Gitte Spee
Gitte Spee (born December 29, 1950, Surabaya), is a Dutch illustrator of children's books. She studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, a renowned academy of fine art and design in the Netherlands, and currently works in Amsterdam. A number of the books she has illustrated have been translated into English by Gecko Press. An illustrator is an artist who specializes in enhancing writing or elucidating concepts by providing a visual representation that corresponds to the content of the associated text or idea. Gerrit Rietveld Academie
The Gerrit Rietveld Academie, also known as Rietveld School of Art & Design and Rietveld Academy, is an art academy in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The academy was founded in 1924 and offers programs in fine arts and design.
