Randers HK
Randers HK was a women's handball club based in Randers, Denmark. They competed in the Bambusa Kvindeligaen and played their home matches in Arena Randers. In November 2022, the club decided to declare itself bankrupt after failing to raise over DKK 5 million. The club was then withdrawn from the league, with immediately effect. History Randers HK was founded in 1996 as a collaborative effort between several smaller clubs from the Randers Municipality to create a handball team that could represent the region at top level. In 2000, they reached the final of the Women's EHF Challenge Cup. The season 2009/2010 was the greatest from the history of the club, Randers HK finishing runner-up in the domestic championship GuldBageren Ligaen and winning the Women's EHF Cup. In 2011/2012 they finally won the Danish Championship. In 2016 they lifted the Danish Cup trophy. Denmark Women's National Handball Team
The Denmark women's national handball team is the national team of Denmark. It is governed by the Dansk Håndbold Forbund (DHF). In 1997, it became the first Women's Handball team to hold all three major titles simultaneously (The World Championship, The Olympic Championship and The European Championship). Denmark women's handball team is the only team (women's and men's) in handball history to win the Olympic Games three consecutive times, earning the gold medal in 1996, 2000, and 2004. Despite tremendous results, the Danish handball team has seen a steady decline. As of 2021, the team has not won a gold medal since the Olympic Games 2004. However, at the World Championship 2013, the team won its first medal (bronze) at a World Championship since 1997 when the team won gold. Hadsten Sports Klub Håndbold is a handball club from Hadsten, Denmark. Currently, Hadsten SK competes in the women's Danish 1st Division. The home arena of the club is Vestjysk BANK Arena. 2008 Women's Junior World Handball Championship
The 2008 Women's Junior World Handball Championship was the 16th edition of the tournament and took place in Macedonia from 21 July to 3 August 2008. Germany won the gold-medal match by defeating Denmark 25-23 while South Korea got the bronze medal. Hosting rights and draw Macedonia won the hosting rights to host the 2008 edition at an IHF congress in April 2007. The draw for the 2008 edition was held on May 18, 2008 at SRC Kale in Skopje with the twenty teams being drawn in four groups of five. Team Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations (England and Scotland), and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria.
