Ghulam Khan
Ghulām Khān (Pashto/) is a town in North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Ghulam Khan is on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is the third most important border crossing point between Pakistan and Afghanistan, after Wesh–Chaman border crossing, Chaman and Torkham Border Crossing, Torkham. The border opened for trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan on 9 March 2018. On 21 September 2008, as an indication of escalating tensions between the nations, Lowara Madi incident, Pakistani forces fired warning shots at American aircraft after they crossed into Pakistan's territory in the area of Saidgai, in North Waziristan's Ghulam Khan region. Lowara Madi Incident
On 21 September 2008 at 10 pm local time, in the Ghulam Khan town of North Waziristan District Pakistani soldiers fired on two American helicopter gunships that entered Pakistani airspace with 12.7 mm heavy machine guns. The helicopters stopped and hovered for a while, before returning over the border to Afghanistan without retaliation. It is unknown if any of the helicopters sustained any damage in this first incident. Thirty minutes later, two gunships attempted to cross the border again at the same place. Torkham Border Crossing
Torkham (; ps, , translit=tūrxam) is a major border crossing between the Pakistani city of Torkham and Afghanistan, located along the Grand Trunk Road on the international border between the two countries. It connects Nangarhar province of Afghanistan with Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. It is the busiest port of entry between the two countries, serving as a major transporting, shipping, and receiving site. Highway 7 connects Torkham to Kabul through Jalalabad. On the Pakistani side, the border crossing is at the end of the N-5 National Highway, which connects it to Peshawar in the east via the Khyber Pass and further connects it to Islamabad by other routes. The Afghan Border Police and Pakistan's Frontier Corps are the main agencies for controlling Torkham. They are backed by the Pakistani and Afghan Armed Forces. Wesh–Chaman Border Crossing
The Wesh–Chaman border crossing is one of the major international border crossings between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Located on the Pak-Afghan border, it leads north from the town of Chaman, Chaman District, Balochistan into Wesh in Spin Boldak District, Kandahar province. More generally, it links the two provincial capitals: Quetta and Kandahar. At least 10 thousand peoples cross this border on the daily basis having businesses in Wesh and return home in the evening. On 14 July 2021, the border crossing was captured by Taliban forces as part of the 2021 Taliban offensive. A brick, double-arched Friendship Gate, rising three stories tall, was erected in 2003. List Of Dialling Codes Of Pakistan
Fixed telephony The area codes in Pakistan consists of two to five digits; generally smaller the city, longer the prefix. All large cities have two-digit codes. The smaller towns might have six digital whereas big cities have seven digit numbers. Azad Kashmir telephone lines contain five digits. On 1 July 2009, telephone numbers in Karachi and Lahore were changed from seven digits to eight digits. This was accomplished by adding 9 to the beginning of all phone numbers that started with a 9 i.e. government and semi-government lines and adding 3 to all other lines.
