Ghulam Abbas (singer)
''Ghulam Abbas'' (born 1 January 1955 ) is a Pakistani radio, television, and film singer. He is known for his ghazals, geets, and playback singing for Urdu and Punjabi movies. Besides winning 4 Nigar Awards as a playback singer, he was also honored with the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Medal of Excellence) in 2011 and the Pride of Performance Award in 2020 by the President of Pakistan. Early life and education Ghulam Abbas was born on January 1, 1955, in Jhang, Punjab, Pakistan. He got his school education in Multan. His higher education includes master's degrees in Philosophy and Urdu literature. Singing career Playback singer Mehdi Hassan noticed this young boy and introduced him to his mentor Ismail Khan. Abbas got an advanced classical training in singing from him. Ghulam Abbas started his playback singing career with a Punjabi film "Aashiq Loag Soudai" in 1975. Urdu literature ( ur, , ) is literature in the Urdu language. Wajahat Attre (1945 – 26 May 2017) was a Pakistani music director who composed around 3000 songs for over 200 films. Early life Wajahat Attre was born in Puna, Gujarat, British India in 1945. Amjad Bobby ( Punjabi, ur, ; 1942 15 April 2005) was an acclaimed Pakistani music composer and director. Early life and career He was born in Amritsar, British India in 1942. His father wanted him to be a clerk but he preferred to become a film music composer. His first film as a music director was Aik Nagina (1969) and the song "Dil nahi toe koi sheesha koi pathar hi milay" in Ahmed Rushdi's voice gained him some recognition. Nazir Ali (1945 – 5 January 2003) was a Pakistani film music director. He is tagged as the "king of dhamaal". He composed 123 songs in 39 Urdu films and 435 songs in 115 Punjabi films. He won 2 Nigar Awards during his music career prolonged over three decades. Early life and career Nazir Ali was born in Gakhar Mandi, Gujranwala district, British India in 1945.
