Ghana DJ Awards
The Ghana DJ Awards are an annual ceremony to recognize and honor disc jockeys and other individuals who have influenced electronic dance music in Ghana. Its purpose is to foster the development of the Ghana music industry by rewarding and celebrating radio, mobile and club DJs who have excelled in their profession. The annual event highlights contributions Ghana DJs have made to the music distribution and promotion industry by playing, endorsing and publishing songs. History The awards were founded in 2011. Conceived by Merqury Quaye, the first Ghana DJ Awards ceremony was held at the National Theatre on 15 February 2012. Notable disc jockeys who have performed at the awards ceremony include DJ Que, DJ Vyrusky, DJ Kofi, DJ Black and DJ Jimmy Jatt. Awards As of 2015, awards were presented in thirty-four categories. In September 2020, the organizers introduced a new category, "Lockdown DJ of the Year", to award DJs who entertained music fans during the COVID-19 lockdown period ...

A disc jockey, more commonly abbreviated as DJ, is a person who plays recorded music for an audience. National Theatre Of Ghana
The National Theatre was opened in 1992 to spearhead the Theatre movement in Ghana by providing a multi-functional venue for concerts, dance, drama and musical performances, screenplays, exhibitions and special events. DJ Vyrusky
Kofi Amoako, known professionally as DJ Vyrusky, is a Ghanaian disc jockey, he was the Commercial Media Manager at EchoHouse, before he becoming a full-time DJ on Starr Drive in 2014. He is currently the 2017 Ghana DJ Awards Best DJ of the Year and Best DJ from the Ghana Music Honors. Oluwaforijimi "Jimmy" Adewale Amu (born October 15, 1966), professionally referred to by his stage name DJ Jimmy Jatt, is a Nigerian disc jockey who is revered as one of the pioneering hip hop DJs in Nigeria. He started out his music career as a rapper under the sobriquet Master J but delved into DJing after his failure in getting signed by a record label despite releasing a handful of songs including a demo recording. Erica Armah Bra-Bulu Tandoh (born December 12, 2007) known by the stage name DJ Switch, is a young Ghanaian disc jockey.
