Geta Burlacu
Geta Burlacu (, born Georgeta Povorozniuc on 22 July 1974) is a Moldovan singer. She represented Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "A Century of Love” written by Vica Demici and Oleg Baraliuc. Career Burlacu began singing at age of seven. She studied violin at the music school in Bălți and graduated from the College of Music in Balti as a violinist. In 1993 she went to the Academy of Music in Chisinau to study jazz and folk music. After graduation in 1997, Burlacu stepped on the professional scene. She has performed in Germany, France, Ireland, Romania, Ukraine, Belarus, and China. She has won numerous awards at national and international festivals in jazz, pop, and folk. From 1998 until 2011, Burlacu worked as a singer in the vocal jazz band Univox. Moldova participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song "Hora din Moldova" written by Veaceslav Daniliu, Andrei Hadjiu, Nelly Ciobanu and Aristotelis Kalimeris. Nelea Ciobanu-Mărgineanu (born 28 October 1974), known professionally as Nelly Ciobanu () is a Moldovan singer. Ciobanu graduated from music college of the city of Tiraspol and later made her debut on stage in 1993, with her brother as part of duo "Master Dinamit". Eurovision Song Contest 2008
The Eurovision Song Contest 2008 was the 53rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Belgrade, Serbia, following the country's victory at the with the song "Molitva" by Marija Šerifović. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), the contest was held at the Belgrade Arena, and (for the first time) consisted of two semi-finals on 20 and 22 May, and a final on 24 May 2008. Moldova participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Fight" written by Alexandru Braşoveanu and Elena Buga. The song was performed by Natalia Barbu. The Moldovan broadcaster TeleRadio-Moldova (TRM) internally selected the Moldovan entry for the 2007 contest in Helsinki, Finland. 34 entries competed to represent Moldova in Helsinki though a process entitled ''Pentru Eurovision 2007'', with three being shortlisted to participate in a live audition on 14 December 2006 where "Fight" performed by Natalia Barbu was selected by an expert jury. Moldova competed in the semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 10 May 2007. Natalia Barbu
Natalia Barbu (; born 22 August 1979 in Bălți) is a Moldovan singer and songwriter. She is best known for representing Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Fight". Music career Throughout her career, Natalia has worked with a group of musicians called Trigon on an alternative jazz-folk experiment. She writes her own lyrics, composes the music for most of her songs, and collaborates on the arrangements with her crew. In 2006, Natalia Barbu signed a three-year contract with Cat Music Records (Sony Music) office in Bucharest. Her main success has been the release of her single " Îngerul meu" (My Angel) in Romania. The song remained in the Romanian Top 100 for 11 weeks at No.1, and was much featured on MTV Romania.
