Gerrie Germishuys
Johannes Servaas Germishuys, best known as Gerrie Germishuys (born 29 October 1949 in Port Shepstone, Natal) is a former South African rugby union player who played wing for the Springboks. Biography As a winger, Germishuys was known for his speed and agility. His international rugby debut was on 22 June 1974 for the Springboks against the British Lions. He also played against the All Blacks in 1976 and the Lions in 1980. In 1981, he participated in the infamous South Africa rugby team tour of New Zealand. His last cap was on 20 September 1981 against the United States rugby team. He also played in the Currie Cup competition for the provincial teams of the Orange Free State from 1974-1977 and the Transvaal from 1980-1981. Port Shepstone
Port Shepstone is a large town situated on the mouth of the Mzimkhulu River, the largest river on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast of South Africa. It is located halfway between Hibberdene and Margate and is positioned 120 km south of Durban. It is the administrative, educational and commercial centre for southern Natal. History Port Shepstone was founded in 1867 when marble was discovered near the Mzimkhulu River mouth and is named after Sir Theophilus Shepstone of the Natal government of the 1880s. William Bazley built a harbour, and the first coaster entered the harbour on May 8, 1880. In 1882 a party of 246 Norwegian immigrants settled in the town and subsequently started to play a major role in the development of the area. South American Jaguars
The South American XV (sometimes known as CONSUR XV and formerly as South American Jaguars) is a rugby union team made up from the national rugby sides in the Sudamérica Rugby (formerly CONSUR) rugby federation. The squad was first formed in 1980 to compete against South African teams, despite the ban imposed on that country in repudiation of apartheid. A World XV is a rugby union team organised on an unofficial, ''ad hoc'' basis and typically composed of invited players from various countries. Several World XVs have been arranged by various bodies, often to take part in celebration and testimonial games, usually against national teams, but these are not considered test matches by most nations.
