Georgina Abela
Georgina Abela (born 23 April 1959) is a Maltese singer and musician. She is best known for representing Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest on several occasions, either as an entrant, backing vocalist or composer. She is married to fellow composer Paul Abela. She is popular in her country and she has taken part in many song festivals around the world. A backing vocalist is a singer who provides vocal harmony with the lead vocalist or other backing vocalists. Renato Micallef (born 19 November 1951) is a Maltese pop singer. His full name is Nazzareno Alessandro Micallef Garrett. Renato has been active in the Maltese music scene since the age of 12. Renato has toured North America, Australia and the United Kingdom where his website claims he won an award for Singer Of The Year in 1980. In 1975, he represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest, finishing in 12th place with Singing This Song. In 1990, he represented Malta again in the Cavan International Song Festival, with the song ''Our Little World of Yesterday'', which won first prize. The Eurovision Song Contest 1991 was the 36th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Rome, Italy, following the country's victory at the with the song " Insieme: 1992" by Toto Cutugno and was organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Radiotelevisione Italiana (RAI). The contest was held at Studio 15 di Cinecittà on 4 May 1991 and was hosted by former Italian winners Gigliola Cinquetti and Toto Cutugno. Twenty-two countries took part in the contest with participating for the first time since , and the deciding not to participate. This contest was also the last time that the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia participated, the country would soon be split up opening up new countries to participate in the coming years. Mary Spiteri
Mary Spiteri (born 25 October 1947) is a Maltese singer and television personality from Naxxar. She has participated in various national and international music festivals, one of which she came third when representing Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest. She is known for her support for the Labour Party in her home country. Eurovision and later Spiteri represented Malta in the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest held in Malmö, Sweden, with the song " Little Child". Spiteri finished in third place behind Ireland and the United Kingdom. But 1992 was not Spiteri's first attempt at Eurovision. In 1971, she participated in the Maltese heat of Eurovision with the song "Min Int?" (Who Are You?). Malta continued their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, entering the Eurovision Song Contest 1992 in Malmö, Sweden. The Maltese entry was Mary Spiteri with the song "Little Child", which came third at Eurovision, receiving 123 points. Before Eurovision Malta Song for Europe 1992 The Maltese broadcaster, Public Broadcasting Services (PBS), held a national final, Malta Song for Europe 1992, to select their entry for Malta. The contest was held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta on 14 March, hosted by Charles Saliba and Anna Bonanno. Ten songs competed, sung in both Maltese and English.
