George Leong
George Leong (born 1970) is a Singaporean musician, producer and composer. Biography George Leong's musical career in the recording industry began early, with his involvement with the xinyao (Songs composed and sung by Singaporeans) movement in 1987. He is known for his music arrangement work on Leslie Cheung's biggest hit "Chase" and Sandy Lam's ''Scars'' album. He arranged sound tracks for films such as ''Red Rose White Rose'', '' He's a Woman, She's a Man'', ''The Phantom Lover'', ''Little Dragon Maiden'', and ''The Bride with White Hair''. In 1992, Leong produced a number of Chris Ho's songs, including "Deeper", in the album ''Save Sex'', commissioned by Action for AIDS, Singapore. Mandarin Pop
Mandopop or Mandapop refers to Mandarin popular music. The genre has its origin in the jazz-influenced popular music of 1930s Shanghai known as Shidaiqu; with later influences coming from Japanese enka, Hong Kong's Cantopop, Taiwan's Hokkien pop, and in particular the Campus Song folk movement of the 1970s. 'Mandopop' may be used as a general term to describe popular songs performed in Mandarin. Though Mandopop predates Cantopop, the English term was coined around 1980 after "Cantopop" became a popular term for describing popular songs in Cantonese. "Mandopop" was used to describe Mandarin-language popular songs of that time, some of which were versions of Cantopop songs sung by the same singers with different lyrics to suit the different rhyme and tonal patterns of Mandarin. The Phantom Lover
''The Phantom Lover'' () is a 1995 Hong Kong musical romance drama film starring Leslie Cheung and Jacklyn Wu. It was directed by Ronny Yu and is a remake of the 1937 film '' Song at Midnight''. The film itself is a loose adaptation of the classic '' Romeo and Juliet'' romance where love between two passionate lovers were ultimately doomed when parental opposition was the major obstacle. The main theme of the film was, however, a strong adaptation of Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel ''The Phantom of the Opera''. Terry Lin (; born 6 July 1966) is a Taiwanese singer. He has been nominated for the Golden Melody Awards 5 times for Best Mandarin Male Artist. Energy (Taiwanese Band)
Energy was a Taiwanese boy band formed in 2002. The original band consisted of five members, Milk, Ady, Toro, Penny and Joe. Toro and Milk left the band in 2003 and 2005 respectively. Home (Kit Chan Song)
''Home'' (家), sung by Kit Chan, was composed by Dick Lee in 1998 as the first in a series of yearly songs commissioned for Singapore's National Day Parade, together with the other NDP song that year titled as City For The World. It has English and Chinese versions, both sung by Kit. In 2004, it was remixed for three child soloists, one of whom was young actress and singer Shanice Elizabeth Nathan. The children were accompanied by a girls' choir and the piece was reused as the National Day song for 2004. In 2010, Kit performed the song at the 2010 National Day Parade.
