Gazmend Kapllani
Gazmend Kapllani (born August 1, 1967) is an Albanian-born writer and journalist. He is the author of the best-selling novel ''A Short Border Handbook''. He lives in Chicago, Illinois. Early life and education Gazmend Kapllani was born in Lushnjë, Albania on August 1, 1967. The Kapllani family has been forced from their land and resettled by the Communist regime of Enver Hohxa. In 1991, as the popular movement against the communist regime started gathering momentum in Albania, Kapllani led a political rally in Lushnjë. After that, he had to hide from the secret police, and eventually escaped to Greece. Kapllani settled in Athens, where he graduated from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with a BA in Philosophy, and earned his PhD in Political Science and History from Panteion University, Athens, with a thesis on the image of Albanians in the Greek press, and of Greeks in the Albanian press. ''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. Nicknamed the ''Indy'', it began as a broadsheet and changed to tabloid format in 2003. The last printed edition was published on Saturday 26 March 2016, leaving only the online edition. The newspaper was controlled by Tony O'Reilly's Irish Independent News & Media from 1997 until it was sold to the Russian oligarch and former KGB Officer Alexander Lebedev in 2010. In 2017, Sultan Muhammad Abuljadayel bought a 30% stake in it. The daily edition was named National Newspaper of the Year at the 2004 British Press Awards. Rønne
Rønne ( sv, Rönne) is the largest town on the Danish island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea. It has a population of 13,807 (1 January 2022). It was a municipality in its own right from 1970 until 2002, when Bornholm was a county (Danish: ''Bornholms Amt''). It has an area of 29.11 square kilometres (11.24 square miles), and is the administrative centre of the Bornholm municipality. 11,539 inhabitants live in Rønne Parish (number 16 on the map of parishes; click on maps to enlarge for better view), which is a narrow piece of land on the westernmost of the island and stretching north and southward comprising around a third of the area of the former municipality. Rønne Theater
Rønne Theater, also Bornholms Teater, is a theatre in Rønne, Bornholm, Denmark. It is located on the corner of Teaterstræde (Theater Alley) and Østergade (East Street) in a half-timbered yellow and brown painted house with a red tiled roof. The building, dating from 1783, was expanded into a theatre in 1823, making it Denmark's oldest provincial theatre still in active use. Rønne Theater is a venue for amateur plays and opera as well as cabaret performances. It became a listed building in 1938. In early 2001, extensive restoration work was carried out by the Aarhus firm, Exners Tegnestue. With new seating and a new foyer, the Baroque style auditorium now accommodates an audience of 302. documenta 14 was the fourteenth edition of the art exhibition documenta and took place in 2017 in both Kassel, Germany, its traditional home, and Athens, Greece. It was held first in Athens from 8 April to 16 July, and in Kassel from 10 June to 17 September 2017. As part of the concept of the artistic director Adam Szymczyk, the exhibition proceeded in both countries with most featured artists working at both locations. The documenta is a series of contemporary art exhibitions. It takes place every five years (originally every four years) and lasts 100 days each; It is therefore also referred to as a museum of 100 days. Bouchra Khalili (born 1975 in Casablanca) is a Moroccan-French visual artist. Raised between Morocco and France, she studied Film at Sorbonne Nouvelle and Fine Arts at École nationale supérieure d'arts de Paris-Cergy. She lives in Berlin, Germany.
