Documenta 14
documenta 14 was the fourteenth edition of the art exhibition documenta and took place in 2017 in both Kassel, Germany, its traditional home, and Athens, Greece. It was held first in Athens from 8 April to 16 July, and in Kassel from 10 June to 17 September 2017. As part of the concept of the artistic director Adam Szymczyk, the exhibition proceeded in both countries with most featured artists working at both locations. The documenta is a series of contemporary art exhibitions. It takes place every five years (originally every four years) and lasts 100 days each; It is therefore also referred to as a museum of 100 days. The first documenta was organized in 1955 and went back to the initiative of Arnold Bode. The location of the Documenta is normally Kassel. Daniel García Andújar
Daniel García Andújar (1966 in Almoradí) is a visual media artist, activist and art theorist from Spain. He lives and works in Barcelona. His work has been exhibited widely, including Manifesta 4, the Venice Biennale and documenta 14 Athens, Kassel. He has directed numerous workshops for artists and social collectives worldwide. Bili Bidjocka
Bili Bidjocka is a contemporary Cameroonian artist best known for his installations and sculptures. He was born in Douala, Cameroon, lives in France since the age of 12, and works in Paris, Brussels and New York City. Biography In 1975, Bidjocka and his family move to Paris where he studied at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts. In 1985, he is co-founder of the Parisian underground association Les Frigos, aiming to support creative talent. Starting in 1994, as an artist and as a curator, he works on several cultural projects and in 1995 he co-founded and directed the contemporary Art Center ''the Matrix Art Project'' in New York, a platform of production and experimentation. Sokol Beqiri
The Sokol movement (, ''falcon'') is an all-age gymnastics organization first founded in Prague in the Czech region of Austria-Hungary in 1862 by Miroslav Tyrš and Jindřich Fügner. It was based upon the principle of " a strong mind in a sound body". The Sokol, through lectures, discussions, and group outings provided what Tyrš viewed as physical, moral, and intellectual training for the nation. This training extended to men of all ages and classes, and eventually to women. Rebecca Belmore D.F.A. (born 1960) is an interdisciplinary Anishinaabekwe artist who is notable for politically conscious and socially aware performance and installation work. She is Ojibwe and member of Obishikokaang (Lac Seul First Nation). Belmore currently lives in Toronto, Ontario. Belmore has performed and exhibited nationally and internationally since 1986. Nairy Baghramian (born 1971) is an Iranian-born German visual artist. Since 1984, she has lived and worked in Berlin. When the Solomon R. Alexandra Bachzetsis (born 1974) is a Greek-Swiss choreographer and visual artist Her artistic media include visual arts, dance, performance and theater. Rasheed Araeen ( ur, رشید آرائیں; born 1935) is a Karachi born, London-based conceptual artist, sculptor, painter, writer, and curator. He graduated in civil engineering from the NED University of Engineering and Technology in 1962, and has been working as a visual artist bridging life, art and activism since his arrival in London from Pakistan in 1964. Art career Araeen was pursuing a career as an engineer in Karachi when he was first exposed to avant-garde art. This arrived through two channels: imported Western books and magazines and contact with Pakistani contemporary artists. Consequently, he decided to pursue art-making and embarked on a second career.
