Rajarshi Janak University
Rajarshi Janak University is a national university of Nepal. It was founded in October 2017 by the legislature-parliament after passing a bill as per the Constitution under special co-ordination of former Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal, Bimalendra Nidhi. The university is focused in Madhesh Province. The central office of the university is in Janakpur. The name of university is based on King Janak, the legendary king of Mithila. Some of the infrastructure of the university were provided by Tribhuvan University based on the government's decisions. The Ramsworup Ramsagar Multiple Campus, previously run by Tribhuvan University, was transferred to Rajarshi Janak University. Pulchowk Campus ( Nepali: पुल्चोक क्याम्पस), commonly known as Pulchowk Engineering Campus (), is one of the five constituent campuses of the Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering in Nepal, and is one of the best engineering colleges in Asia. Other four constituent campuses are Thapathali Campus, Paschimanchal Campus, Purwanchal Campus, and Chitwan Engineering Campus. This is the central campus of Institute of Engineering (IOE), situated in Lalitpur metropolitan city. The campus offers bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and doctoral degree programs. Every year, IOE conducts an entrance examination for the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.)/ Bachelor in Architecture (B.Arch.) degrees. Thapathali Campus ( ne, थापाथली क्याम्पस) also known as Thapathali Engineering Campus is the first and one of the five constituent engineering campuses under Institute of Engineering (IOE), of Tribhuvan University (TU). Located at the center of Kathmandu city, the campus was established in 2023 B.S. to develop middle level manpower in the field in different fields engineering which upgraded its programs to bachelor and master level along the course of time. Being roughly about 1.25 km from the central campus Pulchowk Campus, it remains the second most demanded engineering campus in Nepal after Pulchowk Campus.
