Rajarshi Janak University
Rajarshi Janak University is a national university of Nepal. It was founded in October 2017 by the legislature-parliament after passing a bill as per the Constitution under special co-ordination of former Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal, Bimalendra Nidhi. The university is focused in Madhesh Province. The central office of the university is in Janakpur. The name of university is based on King Janak, the legendary king of Mithila. Some of the infrastructure of the university were provided by Tribhuvan University based on the government's decisions. The Ramsworup Ramsagar Multiple Campus, previously run by Tribhuvan University, was transferred to Rajarshi Janak University. Faculties The university is involved in agriculture, arts, ayurveda, philosophy, forestry, law, management, medicine and tourism. The Prime Minister of Nepal ( ne, नेपालको प्रधानमन्त्री) is the head of government of Nepal. Mithila painting is a style of painting practiced in the Mithila region of India and Nepal. Formal higher learning in Nepal began with the establishment of Tri-Chandra College in 1918, the first college in the country. Until 1985, Tribhuvan University was the only university in the country. Rajbiraj ( ne, राजविराज) is a mid-sized municipality located in the south-eastern part of Madhesh Province of Nepal. Rajbiraj is the district headquarters of Saptari and is the eighth largest city in the province. The township of Rajbiraj was designed in 1938 based on influence from the Indian city of Jaipur - thus making it the first township in Nepal to receive urban planning.
