Garrymore GAA ( ga, CLG An Gharraí Mór) is a Gaelic football club in Killeenrevagh, County Mayo, Ireland.https://www.facebook.com/GarrymoreGAA They won the Connacht Senior Club Football Championship in 1981. Gaelic football ( ga, Peil Ghaelach; short name '), commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA or Football is an Irish team sport. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). Enda Varley
Enda Varley is a Gaelic footballer who played at senior level for the Mayo county team. He has played with the Garrymore and St Vincent's clubs, transferring there from his native club. Varley started at right corner-forward and scored two points in the 2012 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final, which Mayo lost by four points to Donegal. He also played in the 2013 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final, but was unexpectedly left out of the county panel in 2015. Noel Tierney
Noel Tierney (born 2 February 1942 in Milltown, County Galway) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played for his local club Milltown and at senior level for the Galway county team that won three consecutive All-Ireland Senior Football Championships from 1964 until 1966 inclusive. Tierney was a member of the Galway All-Ireland Minor Football Championship winning team of 1960, a team which included a number of future three-in-a-row panelists. He won a National Football League with Galway in 1965, as well as winning two Railway Cup medals with Connacht in 1967 and again in 1969, when he captained the team. He won two Cú Chulainn Awards (an early All Stars Award) and he also won Texaco Footballer of the Year in 1964. In 1993, he was inducted into the Galway Football Hall of Fame. Milltown GAA (County Galway)
Milltown (Irish: ) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Milltown area in County Galway, Ireland which was established in 1953. The Club is one of the longest established sides in Galway. Milltown are a Gaelic football club. Twice winners of the Galway Senior Football Championship, Milltown made their first appearance in a county final in 20 years when they faced Killererin at Pearse Stadium in 2007, but were defeated by a scoreline of 1-09 to 0-10. The All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament which began in season 1970–71. It is the top-tier competition for the senior football clubs of Ireland and London. The current champions are Kilcoo of Down who defeated Kilmacud Crokes of Dublin on 12 February 2022 to win their first title. The current trophy is the Andy Merrigan Cup, named after a footballer who played for Castletown Liam Mellows and Wexford who died as a result of a farm accident at the height of his playing career. Tony Corcoran is an Irish writer. He is the author of ''The Goodness of Guinness'', a book which examines the brewery's operation and the working lives of the thousands of Dublin people who depended on Guinness for their livelihood.
