Garry Pearson
Garry Pearson (born 7 September 1991) is a British rally driver from the town of Duns in the Scottish borders. He was Scottish Rally Champion in 2021. Career Pearson's first event was in 2008 driving a Peugeot 205 GTi where he finished 78th out of a field of 140. Driving various cars over the years and with varying success he eventually managed a hugely successful year in 2021. That year he and regular co-driver ''Niall Burns'' netted four rally championship crowns. They won the Scottish Rally Championship, the Welsh Forest Rally Championship, the BTRDA Rally Series and the Motorsport UK National Rally Championship. 2021 Scottish Rally Championship
The Scottish Rally Championship is a rallying series run throughout Scotland over the course of a year, that comprises both gravel and tarmac surface rallies. The 2021 series was to begin on the forest tracks around Inverness on 6 March, with the season finale due to take place around Dalbeattie on 11 September. 2021 calendar For season 2021 there was to be seven events held on both gravel and tarmac surfaces. The 2021 reserve event will be the ''Carlisle Stages Rally'' in October. BTRDA Rally Series
BTRDA Rally Series is a rally series in Great Britain. The BTRDA (British Trials and Rally Drivers Association) was formed in 1938 by a group of disgruntled participants in the London-Gloucester reliability trials. The event had been promoted as suitable for amateurs with ordinary road cars, but proved so difficult that only two cars completed. Originally, BTRDA organised only sporting trials (first champion listed is Ken Wharton in 1948), only adding rallycross (first champion listed is Trevor Reeves in 1977) and Allrounders championships in the 1970s. Rally is a wide-ranging form of motorsport with various competitive motoring elements such as speed tests (often called ''rally racing),'' navigation tests, or the ability to reach waypoints or a destination at a prescribed time or average speed. Rallies may be short in the form of trials at a single venue, or several thousand miles long in an extreme endurance rally. Depending on the format, rallies may be organised on private or public roads, open or closed to traffic, or off-road in the form of cross country or rally-raid. Duns is a town in the Scottish Borders, Scotland. It was the county town of the Shires of Scotland, historic county of Berwickshire. History Early history Duns Law, the original site of the town of Duns, has the remains of an Iron Age hillfort at its summit. Similar structures nearby, such as the structure at Edin's Hall Broch, suggest the area's domestic and defensive use at a very early stage. The Škoda Fabia R5 is a rally car built by Škoda Motorsport. It is based upon the Škoda Fabia road car and is built to R5 regulations. It made its competition début in 2015 as a successor to the Škoda Fabia S2000.
