Asli and Karam ( az, Əsli və Kərəm) is the fifth mugham opera in four acts and six scenes written by Uzeyir Hajibeyov. Its libretto was written by the composer based on motifs of broadly famed in the South Caucasus poem ''Kerem and Aslı'' (also ''Asli and Kerem''). ''Leyli and Majnun'' ( az, Leyli və Məcnun) is an opera in four acts by Uzeyir Hajibeyov, to an Azerbaijani libretto written by the composer and his brother Jeyhun Hajibeyov. Bulbuljan
Bulbuljan ( az, Bülbülcan), born as Abdulbagi Ali oglu Zulalov (1841–1927), was an Azerbaijani singer of folk music and mugam (an original improvisational genre of classical folk music in Azerbaijan). He was also famous for his performance of Azeri mugams in other regional languages, such as Georgian, Lezgian, Kumyk, Persian, and Russian. Life and career Abdulbagi Zulalov, later known as Bulbuljan, was born in 1841 in Shusha (then part of the Russian Empire, nowadays in Azerbaijan).
