Gaio Chiocchio
Gaio Chiocchio (25 May 1954 – 28 July 1996) was a Brazilian-born Italian lyricist, record producer, composer, and singer-songwriter. In 1974 he started his professional career co-founding the progressive band Pierrot Lunaire, where he served as composer, vocalist, guitarist and sitarist. Pierrot Lunaire (band)
Pierrot Lunaire was an Avant-prog/Progressive folk band from Italy. The band formed in 1974 and was originally named Primtemps. Two albums were released: a self-titled one in 1974 and ''Gudrun'' in 1976. They are quite different in style, the first being more based upon normal song structure though still being quite experimental, and the second being more free-form and experimental than the first. ''Gudrun'' is regarded as a classic by many fans of progressive rock. The band appears on the Nurse with Wound list. Sitar
The sitar ( or ; ) is a plucked stringed instrument, originating from the Indian subcontinent, used in Hindustani classical music. The instrument was invented in medieval India, flourished in the 18th century, and arrived at its present form in 19th-century India. Khusrau Khan, an 18th century figure of Mughal Empire has been identified by modern scholarship as the originator of Sitar. According to most historians he developed sitar from setar, an Iranian instrument of Abbasid or Safavid origin. Another view supported by a minority of scholars is that Khusrau Khan developed it from ''Veena''. Used widely throughout the Indian subcontinent, the sitar became popularly known in the wider world through the works of Ravi Shankar, beginning in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Marco Ferradini (born 28 July 1949) is an Italian pop-rock singer-songwriter and musician. Career Born in Como, Ferradini debuted as a guitarist in several groups. He started his career as a singer-songwriter in 1978, with the song "Quando Teresa verrà", which he entered the competition at the Sanremo Music Festival. His main success was the song "Teorema" (part of the EP ''Schiavo senza catene''), which became in a short time a classic in Italy. Amedeo Minghi (born 12 August 1947) is an Italian singer-songwriter, composer and producer. Life and career Born in Rome, Minghi started his career in the mid-1960s participating in a large number of musical contests, and then making his professional debut in 1966 with the single "Alla fine", with lyrics by Mogol. The disappointing commercial results of the song and the military service took him away from the musical industry for several years. Following a new single in 1971, in 1973 he released his first eponymous album, with the uncredited collaboration of Francesco De Gregori. In the same years Minghi started collaborating as a composer with several artists, such as Vianella and Ricchi e Poveri. Riccardo Cocciante (; born 20 February 1946), also known in French-speaking countries and the U.S. as Richard Cocciante (), is an Italian singer, composer, theatre man and musician.
