Gabriel Farfán
Gabriel Farfán Stopani (born June 23, 1988, in San Diego, California) is an American former soccer player who played for Clubs such as Club America, Philadelphia Union, Chivas USA, Chiapas F.C. and New York Cosmos. Career Youth and College Played youth club soccer in Southern California where he captured numerous team titles, including the 2002 national championship. He also played in the Youth World Championships in Japan in 2000 in the Mexico national team. In 2004, he joined IMG Soccer Academy and remained there until enrolling at California State University, Fullerton in the Spring of 2006. After two years with the CSUF Titans in which he played with his twin brother Michael Farfan, he joined the youth system of Mexico's Club América. He remained at Club América for two years before returning to the United States. The 2013 Major League Soccer season was the 101st season of FIFA-sanctioned soccer in the United States and Canada, the 35th with a national first-division league, and the 18th season of Major League Soccer. The season featured 19 total clubs (16 from the United States, 3 from Canada). The regular season began on March 2, when Sporting Kansas City defeated the Philadelphia Union 3–1 at PPL Park. The 2012 Philadelphia Union season was the third season of the team's existence, competing in Major League Soccer, the top flight of American soccer. The team was initially managed by former MLS player Peter Nowak, in his third season with the club. The 2011 Philadelphia Union season was the second season of the team's existence, competing in Major League Soccer, the top flight of American soccer. The team was managed by former MLS player Peter Nowak, in his second season with the club. Background At the end of the 2010 season, Philadelphia was 7th in the Eastern Conference, which unfortunately was not enough to get them into the MLS Playoffs. During the off-season, the team lost Fred, Seitz, Salinas, and Moreno through re-entry and expansion drafts. The Union did acquire 2 new players before the 2011 SuperDraft in January: one through trade (Brian Carroll from Columbus Crew) and their first homegrown player (Zach Pfeffer). Houston Dynamo FC (formerly officially, but still commonly, called the Houston Dynamo) is an American professional soccer club based in Houston.
