France Stratégie () is a policy discussion body in Paris, initially known as the Commissariat général à la stratégie et à la prospective () from its creation in April 2013 to its rebranding in June 2014. It is government-funded and part of the Office of the French Prime Minister. It also serves as hub for a network of research bodies and institutes, including CEPII and the Conseil d'Analyse Économique. General Planning Commission (France)
The General Planning Commission (''Commissariat général du Plan'') was an advisory body reporting to the government of France. It was established by the Chairman of the French Provisional Government, Charles de Gaulle, on 3 January 1946. The General Planning Commission's first plan, the Modernization and Re-equipment Plan, was designed to spur economic reconstruction following World War II. Its aims were: (1) to develop national production and foreign trade, particularly in those fields where France is most favourably placed; (2) to increase productivity; (3) to ensure the full employment of manpower; (4) to raise the standard of living and to improve the environment and the conditions of national life. Centre D'Analyse Stratégique
The Centre d'Analyse Stratégique (CAS, ) was a decision-making and expertise institution under the authority of the Prime minister of France. It was established by decree on 6 March 2006, succeeding the General Planning Commission, and was replaced in 2013 by the , later renamed France Stratégie. Its mission was to advise the Government in the creation and application of economic, social, environmental and cultural policy. It drew upon an 11-member Steering Committee that included two Deputies, two Senators and a member of the Economic and Social Council. The Conseil d'Analyse Économique (CAE, ) is an economic advisory body in Paris. It is government-funded and part of the Office of the French Prime Minister. It was established by executive order of under newly elected Prime Minister Lionel Jospin, and reorganized by order of to refocus its membership criteria on academic excellence. The CAE commissions reports from its members, which are published and serve both as advice to the government and as contributions to the public debate. Jean Pisani-Ferry (born July 28, 1951) is a French economist and public policy expert. He is a fellow at think tanks Bruegel in Brussels and the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington, D.C. He is also a senior professor in economics and public management at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, and a professor at the European University Institute near Florence. He served as Commissioner General for Policy Planning under Prime Minister Manuel Valls. The Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis ( nl, Centraal Planbureau, CPB, literal translation: Central Planning Bureau) is a part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy of the Netherlands. Its goal is to deliver economic analysis and forecasts. The CPB is an independent government agency founded at 15 September 1945 by Nobel laureate Jan Tinbergen. The Number 10 Policy Unit is a body of policymakers based in 10 Downing Street, providing policy advice directly to the British Prime Minister.
