Flip Records is a Californian record label, started by Jordan Schur in April 1994. The label is known for the signing of popular nu metal bands such as Limp Bizkit, Dope and Cold. The label has sold 70 million albums worldwide. History Flip Records was founded by Jordan Schur in April 1994, who was looking to set up a record label of musical acts playing "hard rock with pop sensibilities". Schur left his family's import-export business to start the label, and initially received US$2 million in financial capital. Flip was originally headquartered in West Broadway, New York. Flip's first release was the self-titled debut album by Big Hate, released in January 1996, and the label's releases were initially distributed by Ichiban Records before the label went bankrupt in 1998. Interscope Geffen A&M Records (IGA), is an American umbrella label owned by Universal Music Group, consisting of record labels Interscope Records, Geffen Records, and A&M Records. History Interscope Geffen A&M Records was established in 1999, following the PolyGram and MCA Music Entertainment merger (which created UMG). The label group was created by combining the MCA labels Interscope and Geffen Records with the PolyGram-owned A&M, which, at the time, became dormant. PolyGram N.V. was a multinational entertainment company and major music record label formerly based in the Netherlands. It was founded in 1962 as the Grammophon-Philips Group by Dutch corporation Philips and German corporation Siemens, to be a holding for their record companies, and was renamed "PolyGram" in 1972. The name was chosen to reflect the Siemens interest Polydor Records and the Philips interest Phonogram Records. The company traced its origins through Deutsche Grammophon back to the inventor of the flat disc gramophone, Emil Berliner. Later on, PolyGram expanded into the largest global entertainment company, creating film and television divisions. Elektra Records (or Elektra Entertainment) is an American record label owned by Warner Music Group, founded in 1950 by Jac Holzman and Paul Rickolt. Staind ( ) is an American rock band from Springfield, Massachusetts, formed in 1995. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Aaron Lewis, lead guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist and backing vocalist Johnny April, and drummer Jon Wysocki. The lineup has been stable outside of the 2011 departure of Wysocki, who was replaced by Sal Giancarelli. ''Three Dollar Bill, Y'all'' (stylized as ''Three Dollar Bill, Yall$'') is the debut studio album by American rap rock band Limp Bizkit, released on July 1, 1997, by Flip and Interscope Records. It established the band's trademark sound with the singles " Counterfeit", which was influenced by hip hop and heavy metal, and "Faith", a cover of the song of the same name by George Michael. Limp Bizkit's rearrangement of the song incorporated heavier guitar playing by Wes Borland and scratching by DJ Lethal.
