Admiral Twin
Admiral Twin is an American pop rock/power pop band, formed in 1997 by members of the Mellowdramatic Wallflowers in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Their name comes from the Admiral Twin Drive-In, a popular drive-in theater that operated in Tulsa from 1951 until it was destroyed by a fire on September 3, 2010. The Admiral Twin Drive-In was rebuilt and reopened for business on June 15, 2012. 1997–August 2002 Admiral Twin released their debut CD, ''Unlucky'', in December 1997 on independent New Pop Revival Records. The band consisted of Brad Becker (vocals, guitar, keyboards, and more), Mark Carr (vocals, bass), Jarrod Gollihare (vocals, drums), and John Russell (vocals, guitar). All of the members are also songwriters. In support of ''Unlucky'', they toured with local Tulsa pop stars, Hanson, as the opening act on the Albertane Tour in the summer of 1998. Hanson (band)
Hanson is an American pop band from Tulsa, Oklahoma, formed by brothers Isaac Hanson (guitar, vocals, bass, piano), Taylor Hanson (keyboards, vocals, percussion), and Zac Hanson (drums, vocals, piano). Supporting members include Dimitrius Collins (guitar) and Andrew Perusi (bass), who have toured and performed live with the band since 2007. Hanson is best known for the 1997 hit song "MMMBop" from their debut album released through Mercury/Polygram Records, entitled '' Middle of Nowhere'', which earned three Grammy nominations. The group's label Mercury Records was merged with its sister labels and the band were moved to Island Def Jam Music Group. ''Tru Loved'' is a 2008 independent film written and directed by Stewart Wade and starring Najarra Townsend, Jake Abel, Matthew Thompson and Alexandra Paul. ''Sealab 2021'' is an American adult animated television series created by Adam Reed and Matt Thompson for Cartoon Network's late-night programming block, Adult Swim. Steve Ripley
Paul Steven Ripley (January 1, 1950 – January 3, 2019) was an American recording artist, record producer, songwriter, studio engineer, guitarist, and inventor. He entered the music industry in 1977. He was also the leader/producer of country rock band The Tractors. Early life and education Ripley was born in Boise, Idaho, but grew up in Oklahoma: he attended Glencoe High School in Glencoe, Oklahoma, and graduated from Oklahoma State University. Career Ripley's band Moses chose the name Red Dirt Records for their 1972 self-published live album; the first usage of Red Dirt. The Tractors
The Tractors were an American country rock band composed of a loosely associated group of musicians headed by guitarist Steve Ripley. The original lineup consisted of Steve Ripley (lead vocals, guitar), Ron Getman (guitar, Dobro, mandolin, tenor vocals), Walt Richmond (keyboards, piano, bass vocals), Casey van Beek (bass guitar, baritone vocals), and Jamie Oldaker (drums). Under the band's original lineup, they signed to Arista Nashville in 1994, releasing their self-titled debut album that year; the album only produced one Top 40 hit on the ''Billboard'' country charts. Albertane Tour
The Albertane Tour was the debut tour by American band, Hanson. The tour supported the band's debut studio album, '' Middle of Nowhere'' (1997). The tour predominantly visited North America with additional dates in France, Germany and England. The ''Live from Albertane'' album was released the following fall to capture performances on the tour. The documentary film ''The Road to Albertane'' was also made to record the touring experience for the three Hanson brothers. The ''Tulsa World'' is the daily newspaper for the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and primary newspaper for the northeastern and eastern portions of Oklahoma. Tulsa World Media Company is part of Lee Enterprises. Pop Rock
Pop rock (also typeset as pop/rock) is a fusion genre with an emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft, and less emphasis on attitude than rock music. Drive-in Theater
A drive-in theater or drive-in cinema is a form of cinema structure consisting of a large outdoor movie screen, a projection booth, a concession stand, and a large parking area for automobiles. Within this enclosed area, customers can view movies from the privacy and comfort of their cars. Some drive-ins have small playgrounds for children and a few picnic tables or benches. The screen can be as simple as a painted white wall, or it can be a steel truss structure with a complex finish. Originally, the movie's sound was provided by speakers on the screen and later by individual speakers hung from the window of each car, which was attached to a small pole by a wire. These speaker systems were superseded by the more practical method of microbroadcasting the soundtrack to car radios.
