Finland In The Eurovision Song Contest 2010
Finland participated at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "Työlki ellää" written by Timo Kiiskinen. The song was performed by the duo Kuunkuiskaajat. The Finnish broadcaster Yleisradio (Yle) organised the national final ''Euroviisut 2010'' in order to select the Finnish entry for the 2010 contest in Oslo, Norway. 15 entries were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of three semi-finals and a final, taking place in January 2010. Ten entries ultimately competed in the final on 30 January where votes from the public selected "Työlki ellää" performed by Kuunkuiskaajat as the winner. Finland was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 25 May 2010. Performing during the show in position 5, "Työlki ellää" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the first semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. Amadeus Lundberg
Juha Grigori Amadeus Lundberg (born 29 March 1989), better known as Amadeus, is a Finnish singer. He became famous after winning the Tangomarkkinat tango contest in 2009. As the Tangomarkkinat winner, Amadeus was invited to Euroviisut 2010 song contest, the Finnish qualification for Eurovision Song Contest 2010, with the song "''Anastasia''". He qualified for the final on 30 January, but he failed to reach the Super Final. Amadeus released his debut album on 27 January 2010. Eläkeläiset (Finnish for "pensioners") are a Finnish humppa band founded in 1993. They specialise in humppa and jenkka music and have been successful in Germany, Finland and elsewhere. Current members of the band are Onni Waris (keyboard, vocals), Petteri Halonen (keyboard, guitar, vocals), Lassi Kinnunen (accordion, vocals), Martti Waris (bass, vocals), and Tapio Santaharju (drums, vocals). Villieläin
Villieläin are a symphonic / power metal band from Tampere, Finland. They formed in 2006 and released a demo the same year. On August 19, 2009 they released their first studio album named '' Julma Satu'', and went on indefinite hiatus soon afterwards. Background The band was formed in 2006 by Emilia "Nemilia" Rantasalo, Jani Hölli, Timo Niemistö, Janne Juutinen and Dimitri Martinov, with the name of the band meaning ''Wild Animal''. Nina Tapio
Nina Tapio (born February 24, 1972) is a Finnish singer, songwriter, musical actor, and session musician. Her singing career started at the age of five, when she sang on a children's record. Tapio studied at Helsinki Pop & Jazz Conservatory where she got a degree as a teacher of singing. In 1994 she started the band Taikapeili together with Hanna-Riikka Siitonen, publishing three albums until 1999. In 1998 and 2003 she also recorded two albums with Adiemus.
