Amadeus Lundberg
Juha Grigori Amadeus Lundberg (born 29 March 1989), better known as Amadeus, is a Finnish singer. He became famous after winning the Tangomarkkinat tango contest in 2009. As the Tangomarkkinat winner, Amadeus was invited to Euroviisut 2010 song contest, the Finnish qualification for Eurovision Song Contest 2010, with the song "''Anastasia''". He qualified for the final on 30 January, but he failed to reach the Super Final. Amadeus released his debut album on 27 January 2010. The album, simply called ''Amadeus'', featured his first single "''Matador''", his Tangomarkkinat winning entry "''Onnemme kyyneleet''" and of course his Euroviisut entry "''Anastasia''". Lundberg's father Taisto Lundberg is a member of a well-known band Hortto Kaalo. Finnish Tango
Finnish tango ( fi, suomalainen tango), or FINtango, music is an established variation of the Argentine tango but whose rhythm follows the Ballroom tango. It was one of the most popular music forms for decades in Finland. Brought to Europe in the 1910s, and to Finland itself in 1913, by travelling musicians, Finns began to take up the form and write their own tangos in the 1930s. The first Finnish tango was written by Emil Kauppi in 1914 for a film called ''Salainen perintömääräys'' (meaning The Secret Testament). It features a typical Finnish rhythm pattern with habanera. In the 1920s the tango was danced exclusively by Helsinki’s bohemians. By the 1940s about half of the entries on the popular music charts were occupied by tangos, and the post war period saw tangos spread from a popular urban phenomenon to their enthusiastic adoption by the countryside as well. Tangomarkkinat
The Tangomarkkinat is the world's oldest tango festival. It is held early every July in Seinäjoki, Finland. As well as competitions to find the country's best tango singers, composers, and dancers, the festival features public dancing to live music provided by the best Finnish entertainers. Music for public dancing is not restricted to tango: it includes all the dance rhythms popular in Finland: but tango content must, according to the rules, be at least 40%. History The festival had its origins in a Finnish sauna. Lasse Lintala, the director of the Ilmajoki Music Festival and his wife were in the sauna with the director of the MTV3 TV channel Tauno Äijälä and his wife Katja. Finland In The Eurovision Song Contest 2010
Finland participated at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "Työlki ellää" written by Timo Kiiskinen. The song was performed by the duo Kuunkuiskaajat. The Finnish broadcaster Yleisradio (Yle) organised the national final ''Euroviisut 2010'' in order to select the Finnish entry for the 2010 contest in Oslo, Norway. 15 entries were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of three semi-finals and a final, taking place in January 2010. Ten entries ultimately competed in the final on 30 January where votes from the public selected "Työlki ellää" performed by Kuunkuiskaajat as the winner. Finland was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 25 May 2010. The Eurovision Song Contest 2010 was the 55th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Oslo, Norway, following the country's victory at the with the song "Fairytale (Alexander Rybak song), Fairytale" by Alexander Rybak. Hortto Kaalo
Hortto Kaalo is a Finnish gypsy music band performing in both Finnish and Romani. They specialize in Eastern European and French gypsy music. The band's name in Romani means 'real Roma'. The group was formed in 1969 by Feija Åkerlund, Marko Putkonen, Taisto Lundberg, and Heikki Nyman, although Nyman left the group shortly afterwards. Hortto Kaalo has often performed together with the Finnish Romani singer . Hortto Kaalo's debut single, the protest song ''Miksi ovet ei aukene meille?'' ( 'Why doors won't open for us'), came out in 1970, and has been credited for contributing to the illegalization of racial discrimination in Finland. Vuorineuvos ("mining counselor", literally Finnish for "mountain counselor"; sv, bergsråd) is a Finnish honorary title granted by the President of Finland to leading figures in industry and commerce. The title is honorary and has no responsibilities and no privileges. All Finnish titles are non-hereditary. The only title of equal rank is ''valtioneuvos''.
