Federal Italy
Federal Italy (''Italia Federale'', IF) was a political party in Italy founded in 1996 by Irene Pivetti, after her expulsion from the Northern League on 12 September. The party was officially constituted in Bolzano and presented its symbol on the following 28 December. The symbol was a rampant bear that, according to its founder, "is a European animal that has always personified the courageous man who obeys reason". In February 1997 the movement claimed to have collected 2,700 people in three months. In April and November of the same year, IF made its debut in various local elections, such as the municipal elections in Milan and Catania. Irene Pivetti
Irene Pivetti (born 4 April 1963 in Milan) is an Italian journalist, television presenter and politician. She has been President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies from 1994 to 1996. After leaving politics, she started a career in television, like her sister Veronica, a popular Italian actress. Biography She is the daughter of director Paolo Pivetti and actress Grazia Gabrielli, sister of the actress, presenter and director Veronica Pivetti, and granddaughter of the linguist Aldo Gabrielli (maternal grandfather). She graduated with honors in literature (philosophical address) at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan; after the degree she worked as an editorial consultant. Between 1987 and 1990 he edited volumes on the Italian language for Motta Editore, Selezione, Mondadori, Club degli Editori, De Agostini. Lecco
Lecco (, , ; lmo, label=Lecchese, Lècch ) is a city of 48,131 inhabitants in Lombardy, northern Italy, north of Milan. It lies at the end of the south-eastern branch of Lake Como (the branch is named ''Branch of Lecco'' / ''Ramo di Lecco''). The Bergamo Alps rise to the north and east, cut through by the Valsassina of which Lecco marks the southern end. The lake narrows to form the river Adda, so bridges were built to improve road communications with Como and Milan. The Christian Democratic Centre ( it, Centro Cristiano Democratico, CCD) was a Christian-democratic political party in Italy from 1994 to 2002. Formed from a right-wing split from Christian Democracy, the party joined the centre-right coalition, and was a member of the European People's Party (EPP). History The CCD was founded in January 1994 by members of Christian Democracy (DC) who opposed the party's transformation into the Italian People's Party (PPI), and advocated an alliance with Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia (FI), which was launched on the same day, while the PPI advocated a centrist alliance with the Segni Pact called Pact for Italy. In the run-up of the 2018 general election, the party was rebranded as (), without changing its official name.
