Futsal Club Championship
The Futsal Club Championship, also referred as Hero Futsal Club Championship for sponsorship ties, is the highest level futsal club competition in India, organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The inaugural edition kicked off on 5th November 2021 in New Delhi with 16 teams. It acts as qualifier for the AFC Futsal Club Championship, the highest level club futsal competition in Asia. History On 10 December 2019, the AIFF executive committee decided that futsal club competition will be part of their calendar from 2020 season onwards. AIFF invited clubs playing Indian Super League, I-League and state level futsal champions to participate in the inaugural season. The inaugural championship was originally planned to be held in July – August, but due to COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed until 2021. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) is the national governing body of football in India. It is a member of FIFA, the international governing body of football and affiliated to Asian Football Confederation. State football leagues in India represent the top state-level of the Indian football league system. There are currently a total of 37 state associations affiliated with the national governing body, the All India Football Federation. Most of the state associations organise and have own affiliated football competitions in their respective states. The state leagues operate as a system of promotion and relegation with the I-League 2, Indian Women's League, Futsal Club Championship and lower state leagues. Mohammedan Sporting Club Futsal is a professional futsal club based in Kolkata, India. It is the section of over a century old multi-sports club Mohammedan SC. Originally Mohammedan begun to play futsal in 2005 for an exhibition tournament organised by IFA (W.B.). Later, the club's separated section was formally founded in 2021 and now plays in Futsal Club Championship, India's top tier futsal league. Chanmari Football Club is an Indian football club based in Aizawl, Mizoram. They are currently competing in Mizoram Premier League, the top level of football in the state of Mizoram.
