Mohammedan SC Futsal
Mohammedan Sporting Club Futsal is a professional futsal club based in Kolkata, India. It is the section of over a century old multi-sports club Mohammedan SC. Originally Mohammedan begun to play futsal in 2005 for an exhibition tournament organised by IFA (W.B.). Later, the club's separated section was formally founded in 2021 and now plays in Futsal Club Championship, India's top tier futsal league. History 2005 The IFA had organised Kolkata Futsal Championship in 2005 with 320 teams participating, to introduce the sport in West Bengal. Mohammedan SC decided to create a futsal club to participate in the tournament. After the end of the tournament, the club was discontinued. 2016 The IFA organised another futsal tournament, Kolkata Futsal League in 2016, in order to further promote the sport in the state. Netaji Indoor Stadium
The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium is an indoor sports arena in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The facility seats 12,000 people. This indoor stadium is located just beside the Eden Gardens. It used to host the Sunfeast Open, a WTA Tour tennis tournament. Other international events hosted by the Stadium include the 1981 Asian Basketball Championship. Currently, it is the home of the Pro Kabaddi League team Bengal Warriors. The Netaji Indoor Stadium hosts a wide range of activities, from sporting events to cultural programmes. Futsal Clubs In India
Futsal is a football-based game played on a hard court smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. 2021 Futsal Club Championship
The 2021 Futsal Club Championship was the inaugural edition of the Futsal Club Championship, an annual futsal club tournament in India organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), being held in New Delhi. It was initially planned to be organised in July – August 2020. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic, the championship was held from November 5 – 13 in KD Jadhav Indoor Hall of Indira Gandhi Arena. Format The Futsal Club Championship 2021 featured a total of 16 teams, who were divided into four groups, and played in a round-robin format. The highest-placed team from each group made it to the semi-final stage, which was played in a knockout format amongst the four teams. Delhi Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Delhi. Founded in 1994, the club competes in both I-League and Delhi Premier League. AFC Futsal Club Championship
The AFC Futsal Club Championship is the current highest Asian futsal club competition, hosted by the Asian Football Confederation. It is futsal equivalent to AFC Champions League. For the inaugural edition, AFC Futsal Committee decided to make it an invitational event, and each member association has been asked to nominate their national league champions for the tournament. History and format A trial edition, named 2006 Asia Futsal Cup, was run in 2006 with six teams participating. Iranian team Shensa Saveh beat Uzbek Ardus FC 5–1 in the final.
