Frédéric Niemeyer
Frédéric Niemeyer (born April 24, 1976) is a Canadian retired, professional tennis player and current tennis coach at Tennis Canada. Career Niemeyer reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of World No. 134 achieved on 22 March 2004. He also reached a career-high ATP doubles ranking of World No. 142, achieved on 5 August 2002. In his only Grand Slam singles main draw appearance, Niemeyer reached the second round of the 2003 Wimbledon Championships by beating World No. 8 Felix Mantilla. He also reached the Wimbledon doubles second round on two occasions, in 2005 partnering Glenn Weiner, and again the following year with Tuomas Ketola. Niemeyer took over as Canada's top-ranked singles player in the ATP rankings on 7 January 2002, when he surpassed both Sébastien Lareau and Daniel Nestor and remained Canada no. 1 until 6 January 2003. 2005 Wimbledon Championships – Men's Doubles
Jonas Björkman and Todd Woodbridge were the two-time defending champions but did not play together. Björkman partnered with Max Mirnyi and Woodbridge partnered with Mahesh Bhupathi but both pairs lost to Stephen Huss and Wesley Moodie, in the semifinals and the second round respectively. Simon Larose
Simon Larose (born June 28, 1978) is a former professional tennis player. He was Canada's top-ranked singles player for some months during 2003 and 2004. Larose retired from the tour shortly after being banned for two years for substance abuse. Larose was born in Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec, Canada. He joined the ATP professional tour at the age of 20 in 1998 having played collegiately at Mississippi State University. He was Canada's top-ranked singles player, according to the ATP rankings, in 2003 from January 6 until February 3, from May 19 until June 23, and from August 18 until October 13, and again in 2004 from July 12 until August 2. His best singles ATP ranking is World No. 189, which he achieved in July, 2004. Tuomas Ketola (born 21 February 1975) is a Finnish former professional tennis player on the ATP Tour. Career Ketola was the number two tennis player in Finland behind Jarkko Nieminen and reached a career high doubles ranking of 76 on October 19, 1998. In 2005, he reached the first round of Wimbledon in singles by defeating three opponents in the qualifying matches. However, he lost his first round main draw match to Álex Calatrava. Glenn Weiner
Glenn Weiner (born April 27, 1976) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Career Weiner won his first match on the ATP Tour in 1997, at the Infiniti Open, where he defeated Bob Bryan. Despite being ranked 280th in the world coming into the tournament, Weiner came close to beating the previous year's Wimbledon winner, Richard Krajicek, in the second round. He had four match points, but was unable to convert any of them and lost in a third set tie break. Just weeks later, Weiner upset world number 36 Thomas Johansson at Indianapolis. In 2001 he was runner-up in the doubles at Newport, with André Sá. He also made the quarterfinals of the Heineken Open singles that year. The 2003 Wimbledon Championships was a tennis tournament played on grass courts at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London in the United Kingdom. It was the 117th edition of the Wimbledon Championships and were held from 23 June to 6 July 2003. It was the third Grand Slam tennis event of the year. Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles).
