From the Shallows was a deathcore band from Toledo, Ohio. The band formed in 2005, but over the years, has gone a hiatus. The band has had many members, that included a former member of The Black Dahlia Murder. The band has gotten good reviews from sites such as AllMusic and MetalSucks. The band's debut (and so far only) release, ''Beyond the Unknown'' was produced by Joey Sturgis ( The Devil Wears Prada, Gwen Stacy). The band has played live with Once Nothing, Woe of Tyrants, and The Ghost Inside. Name and beliefs Lead Guitarist Marco Mendoza addressed if the band was a Christian band or not, on YouTube. He also stated their original name. MetalSucks is a heavy metal music-themed news website. The site features reviews, interviews, information on latest metal releases and blog-like posts from the writers, most notably Vince Neilstein and Axl Rosenberg. History The site was founded in December 2006 by authors Ben Umanov and Matthew Goldenberg who use the pen names Vince Neilstein and Axl Rosenberg. In April 2009, MetalSucks was awarded Metal Hammer's Web of Death Award for "Best Reviews" for its "honest, insightful, unpretentious – and fun – reviews." Woe of Tyrants is an American death metal band from Chillicothe, Ohio, which formed in 2004. History Woe of Tyrants released their critically acclaimed debut album, ''Behold the Lion'', through Tribunal Records in June 2007, and they were soon in talks with several major players in the independent label market. Once Nothing
Once Nothing is a self-described "blue collar metal" band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S., and was signed to Solid State Records. The band claims to be Christian, but not a "ministry band". History Once Nothing was formed in early 2000 by Todd Lowry on vocals, Dave Burkes on bass guitar, Ryan Carroll on guitar and Kevin Hough on drums. Shortly after, guitarist Josh Branas was added and the quintet toured regionally until 2005, when Carroll and Hough left the band. Giuseppe Capolupo, previously of Demise of Eros, replaced Hough on drums. Burkes moved to guitar when Steve Lucarelli was added to the band to take over on bass guitar. Gwen Stacy was an American metalcore band from Indianapolis, Indiana, active between 2004 and 2010. Their name came from the character Gwen Stacy, who appeared in the comic book ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' as the girlfriend of Peter Parker. The band announced a reunion in April 2014.
