Fritzi Harmsen Van Beek
Frederike Martine ten Harmsen van der Beek (June 28, 1927 – April 4, 2009), known as Fritzi Harmsen van Beek, was a Dutch writer. The daughter of the cartoonist Harmsen van der Beek, she became an illustrator and poet, receiving significant attention for her debut collection ''Geachte Muizenpoot en Achttien Andere Gedichten''. Her work, which also included short stories, was noted for its grotesque and subversive elements. Harmsen van der Beek resented the media's portrayal of her as a wild bohemian, and she retreated for the latter decades of her life to a small village in the far northeast of the Netherlands. Maaike Meijer
Maaike Meijer (born 25 January 1949) is a Dutch literary scholar. She is a Professor emeritus of Maastricht University. Meijer was born in Eindhoven in 1949, and gained her doctorate cum laude from Utrecht University in 1988 with a thesis entitled ''De lust tot reading''. She argued that women poets had been overlooked and that a less technical review of their work was required. She then worked for ten years at the same university, where she led the post graduate women's studies doctoral students. From 1997 to 1999, as endowed professor, she was the first professor of the Opzij chair at Maastricht University. She taught ''Gender, Representation and Power''. In 1972 Meijer was one of the founders of the lesbian feminist action group Purple September, a spin-off from Dolle Mina. In 1979 the ''Lesbian beautiful book'' was edited by Meijer. A rijksmonument (, ) is a national heritage site of the Netherlands, listed by the agency Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed (RCE) acting for the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. At the end of February 2015, the Netherlands had 61,822 listed national heritage sites, of which approximately 1,500 are listed as archaeological sites. History and criteria Until 2012, a place had to be over 50 years old to be eligible for designation. This criterion expired on 1 January 2012. The current legislation governing the monuments is the ''Monumentenwet van 1988'' ("Monument Law of 1988"). Garnwerd
Garnwerd is a wierde village next to the Reitdiep in the municipality of Westerkwartier in the Dutch province of Groningen. History The village was first mentioned in the 10th or 11th century as "ad Granauurð". The etymology is unclear. Garnwerd is a elongated ''terp'' (artificial living hill) village which developed in the Middle Ages. In 1629, the was canalised and moved to the village. The village flourished due to the trade from Groningen to the former Lauwerszee. The choir of the Dutch Reformed church dates from 1229. In 1738, the tower collapsed and was rebuilt in 1751. The grist mill De Meeuw dates from 1851, and is occasionally used to grind grain. Garnwerd was home to 465 people in 1840. In 1876, the was dug and development of the village stagnated. Blaricum () is a municipality and village in the province of North Holland, the Netherlands. It is part of the region of Gooiland and part of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area (Metropoolregio Amsterdam).
