Fritz Von Der Lippe
Frits von der Lippe (1 June 1901 – 5 September 1988) was a Norwegian journalist and theater critic. He served as Director of Riksteatret in Oslo from 1949–1968. Biography Von der Lippe was born in Bergen, Norway. His parents were Jakob von der Lippe (1870–1954) and Hanna Castberg (1872–1926). His brother Jens von der Lippe (1911–1990) was a ceramist, non-fiction writer and educator. He grew up in Kristiania (now Oslo) where he took his examen artium in 1919. He worked the next year as a teacher at Boen near Kristiansand. He then started as a career in journalism. He was employed at ''Tidens Tegn'' from 1920–21 and then at '' Morgenposten'' where he was a theater critic until 1930. From 1930 to 1949, he worked as Deputy Secretary for Gyldendal Norsk Forlag. Bergen
Bergen (), historically Bjørgvin, is a city and municipality in Vestland county on the west coast of Norway. , its population is roughly 285,900. Bergen is the second-largest city in Norway. Arts Council Norway Honorary Award
The Arts Council Norway Honorary Award ( no, Norsk kulturråds ærespris) is awarded annually by the Arts Council Norway. The prize is awarded annually to a person who has made a significant contribution to Norwegian art and culture. The prize committee does not solicit nominations and the decision on award is made in closed meeting. Traditionally, no decision basis for the award is announced. The prize is monetary (in 2005 500,000 Kroner). Since the Council's thirtieth anniversary in December 1994, a bronze lion statuette by the sculptor Elena Engelsen has also been awarded. Hans Peter L'Orange (academic)
Hans Peter L'Orange (2 March 1903 – 5 December 1983) was a Norwegian art historian and classical archaeologist. Biography L'Orange was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was a son of Major General Hans Wilhelm L'Orange (1868–1950) and Ginni Gulbranson (1879–1949). His family had its origin from among the French Huguenots. He was a paternal grandson of military officer Hans Peter L'Orange (1835–1907), maternal grandson of businessowner Carl August Gulbranson (1831–1910) and brother-in-law of journalist and writer, Gunnar Larsen (1900–1958). From 1930 to 1936 he was a university fellow resident in Rome. He studied art history at the University of Munich. He took the dr.philos. degree at the University of Oslo in 1933 with his thesis ''Studien zur Geschichte des spätantiken Porträts''. Eivind Hjelmtveit
Eivind Hjelmtveit (16 August 1926 – 11 February 2017) was a Norwegian cultural administrator. He was born in Eydehavn, and attended school in Arendal and Sandefjord. He started his career at Riksteatret in 1950 as a secretary, and was the director of Riksteatret from 1968 to 1975 and later Oslo Kinematografer from 1975 to 1993. He was also behind the establishment of Hålogaland Teater in 1971 and also Teatret Vårt and Teater Ibsen. He is decorated as a Knight of the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957.
