Friends Turbo
"Friends Turbo" is a song by German electronic dance band Scooter, and the theme song to the German version of the Dutch film ''New Kids Turbo'', as well as the first single of their fifteenth studio album ''The Big Mash Up''. It was released on 15 April 2011, as a CD single and download release. It is a newer, updated version of their track "Friends" from 1995. Musical style and differences from the original The track is a return to Scooter's old happy hardcore style with influences from both gabber and hardcore techno. Unlike their recent work from the albums ''Under the Radar Over the Top'' and ''Jumping All Over the World'', which has been strongly influenced by hardstyle and jumpstyle, respectively, "Friends Turbo" has a much higher BPM, easily fitting into the happy hardcore genre. ''Under the Radar Over the Top'' is the fourteenth studio album by German hard dance group Scooter (band), Scooter. The album was released in Germany on 2 October 2009, preceded by the single "J'adore Hardcore" on 14 August. A second single, "Ti Sento", was released on the same day as the album. The album was released in the UK on 23 November 2009. The third single "The Sound Above My Hair" was released on 27 November 2009., and "Stuck on Replay", the 4th single from the album is being used as the official theme song of 2010 IIHF World Championship. The album's cover was photographed at the former American National Security Agency, NSA espionage site Teufelsberg in Berlin. Paul Roger Elstak (known professionally as DJ Paul Elstak; born 14 January 1966 in The Hague) is a Dutch hardcore/gabber and happy hardcore DJ and record producer of Surinamese descent. He used to use his full name to create happy hardcore and DJ Paul for hardcore gabber, but when he started Offensive Records in 2001, he started using both names for gabber. Biography During World War II Elstak's grandfather went from Suriname to the Dutch East Indies to fight for the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army (Dutch: Koninklijk Nederlands-Indisch Leger - KNIL), against Japan. His father was born in Jakarta. After independence, his family moved to the Netherlands, to The Hague. "Hyper Hyper" is a song by German band Scooter, released in May 1994 as the first single from their debut album, '' ... and the Beat Goes On!'' (1995). It was sold in three versions: two of the versions had the same track listings, but different covers. The song was one of the most successful dance hits of 1994. The original "Hyper Hyper" quotes were taken from Ultra-Sonic's 1993 track "Annihilating Rhythm (Do you love your hardcore?)", licensed to Low Spirit Records/Polydor. Ultra-Sonic receive a " big shout" in the lyrics of the song, as do a further thirty DJs who were popular in Germany in the mid-1990s. "Move Your Ass!" is a song by German band Scooter, released in January 1995 as the second single from their first studio album, '' ...and the Beat Goes On!'' (1995). In October of the same year, a ''Move Your Ass'' EP was marketed in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This rave song was a hit in countries such as Austria, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland where it reached the top ten. In France, the song reached number 11. "Move Your Ass" was the introduction to Scooter in the UK, being the first of their many releases to enter the UK top 40. It was first released there on 1 April 1995, but it stalled at number 98 on the chart before dropping out of the top 100 altogether. ''New Kids'' is a Dutch comedy sketch show about a group of anti-social behaviour, anti-social youths from Maaskantje, a village in the southern province of North Brabant. It was created by and . Auto-Tune (or autotune) is an audio processor introduced in 1996 by American company Antares Audio Technologies. Auto-Tune uses a proprietary device to measure and alter pitch in vocal and instrumental music recording and performances.
