New Kids
''New Kids'' is a Dutch comedy sketch show about a group of anti-social behaviour, anti-social youths from Maaskantje, a village in the southern province of North Brabant. It was created by and . The show was first shown on ''Flabber.nl'', a Dutch blog, as a succession to ', which aired in 2001. Later, it was picked up by 101 TV and Comedy Central Netherlands, Comedy Central. It was named ''New Kids on the Block'' for the first two seasons. The show became highly popular in both the Netherlands and Germany and spawned two full-length movies, ''New Kids Turbo'' and ''New Kids Nitro''. A frikandel (; plural frikandellen) is a traditional snack originating from the historical Low Countries (Netherlands, Belgium and north of France), a sort of minced-meat sausage, of which the modern version was developed after World War II. The history of this snack in the Spanish Netherlands goes back to the 17th century. History Unlike the modern frika(n)del, the historical frikandel (frickedil) is made from minced veal and generally spiced with mace, nutmeg, salt, pepper and optionally orange peel. A version without egg and breadcrumbs was cooked in a veal net. The shape of the frikadel could have been phallic on purpose. The writer P.C. Hooft called 'fricadellen' a recipe for old spinsters. Also, a special version of the frikadel was served to pregnant women, according to 18th-century cookery books. Brabantian or Brabantish, also Brabantic or Brabantine ( nl, Brabants, Standard Dutch pronunciation: , ), is a dialect group of the Dutch language. It is named after the historical Duchy of Brabant, which corresponded mainly to the Dutch province of North Brabant, the Belgian provinces of Antwerp and Flemish Brabant as well as the Brussels-Capital Region ( Brusselian; where its native speakers have become a minority) and the province of Walloon Brabant. The Opel Manta is a rear-wheel-drive sports coupé built by German manufacturer Opel in two generations from 1970 to 1988. The Manta was a mildly sporting coupé based on the Ascona family car, akin to the Ford Falcon-based Mustang and its various imitators such as the Ford Capri. Gabber (; ) is a style of electronic dance music and a subgenre of hardcore techno, as well as the surrounding subculture.
