Frederick Peach
Frederick George Peach (2 November 1882 – 15 January 1965) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire between 1907 and 1925. Peach was born at Repton, Derbyshire. He played one match for Derbyshire in the County Championship in the 1907 season against Sussex when he was out for a duck in his first innings and made 8 in his second. He did not play again until the 1920 season when he played several matches for the club in what turned out to be its worst season. During 1920 he achieved his best bowling performance with three wickets against Sussex and his top score of 61 not out against Warwickshire and stood in as captain against Leicestershire. He played two games in the 1924 season and one in the 1925 season. Peach was a right-hand batsman and played 24 innings in 12 first-class matches, with an average of 11.21 and a top score of 61 not out. Repton
Repton is a village and civil parish in the South Derbyshire district of Derbyshire, England, located on the edge of the River Trent floodplain, about north of Swadlincote. The population taken at the 2001 Census was 2,707, increasing to 2,867 at the 2011 Census. Repton is close to the county boundary with neighbouring Staffordshire and about northeast of Burton upon Trent. The village is noted for St Wystan's Church, Repton School and the Anglo-Saxon Repton Abbey and medieval Repton Priory. History Christianity was reintroduced to the Midlands at Repton, where some of the Mercian royal family under Peada were baptised in AD 653. Soon a double abbey under an abbess was built. Warwickshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Warwickshire. Burton-upon-Trent
Burton upon Trent, also known as Burton-on-Trent or simply Burton, is a market town in the borough of East Staffordshire in the county of Staffordshire, England, close to the border with Derbyshire. In 2011, it had a population of 72,299. The demonym for residents of the town is ''Burtonian''. Burton is located south-west of Derby, north-west of Leicester, west-south-west of Nottingham and south of the southern entrance to the Peak District National Park. Burton is known for its brewing. It was their twenty seventh season in the County Championship and they won five matches to finish fourteenth in the County Championship. 1925 season Guy Jackson was in his fourth season as captain. All the club's twenty-four first class matches were in the County Championship. The team recovered from a poor season in the previous year with five wins, but with fewer draws the high number of losses left the team in fourteenth place. Derbyshire County Cricket Club in 1920 was the English cricket club Derbyshire's fiftieth season. It was the club's twenty-second season in the County Championship and the most disastrous season ever experienced by any side since the County Championship was established. Derbyshire lost 17 of the 18 matches played and the other was abandoned without a ball being bowled. 1920 season John Chapman was captain for the season, having held the post twice before World War I. The team was very unstable. Thirty eight players played for Derbyshire in the season, but only six played in more than half the matches.
