Frank Foster (Michigan Politician)
Frank Foster is a Republican politician from the U.S. state of Michigan. He was a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing the 107th District. Foster was elected in 2010 and 2012, but was defeated in the 2014 Republican primary. Elections In his first election and attempt at running for office, Foster faced a primary challenge from Mackinac County Commissioner Mike Patrick, and won with a 61-49% margin. In the general election, Foster faced Democrat Dick Timmer, a Chippewa County Commission, and won with a 63-47% margin. In his 2012 re-election campaign, Foster did not have a primary opponent. Pure Michigan began as an advertising campaign launched in 2008 by the state of Michigan, featuring the voice of actor and comedian Tim Allen, using the title song from ''The Cider House Rules'' as the background music in television commercials. The Pure Michigan campaign, which aims to market the state of Michigan as a travel and tourism destination, received state and international attention beginning in 2008 when Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm approved $45 million in additional funding for the Pure Michigan campaign from the 21st Century Jobs Trust Fund. The Michigan House of Representatives is the lower house of the Michigan Legislature. There are 110 members, each of whom is elected from constituencies having approximately 77,000 to 91,000 residents, based on population figures from the 2010 U.S. Census. Its composition, powers and duties are established in Article IV of the Michigan Constitution. Members are elected in even-numbered years and take office at 12 p.m. (EST) on January 1 following the November general election. Gary J. McDowell (born April 21, 1952) is a U.S. politician from the state of Michigan. He was elected to three, two-year terms in the Michigan House of Representatives and served from January 1, 2005, until January 1, 2011.
