Francesca Dolcini (born 28 December 1974) is a former Italian female pole vaulter who won six national championships at individual senior level from 1995 to 2004. Biography In the early 90s Francesca Dolcini was a pioneer of the specialty of the pole vault that was born at the female level in those years throughout the world. Her best result on the international senior level was the 9th place in the pole vault final at the 1998 European Athletics Indoor Championships held in Valencia. She several times broke the national record of pole vault. The Italian Athletics Championships ( it, Campionati italiani assoluti di atletica leggera) are the national championships in athletics, organised every year by the Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera. The first edition, four races only, was held in 1906 at Arena Civica in Milan, just after the foundation of the Federazione Podistica Italiana and with the organization of ''La Gazzetta dello Sport''. Since then, 110 editions were held with the only exceptions of the years 1915-1918 and 1944. During 1945, only athletes of Northern Italy could participate but FIDAL considered this edition as an official one. To the running races, in 1913 the field events were added.
