Flybanger is a Canadian metal band from Vancouver. They are best known for their 2001 major label release ''Headtrip to Nowhere''. History The band started out performing under the name Jar. They released two CDs under that name, including ''Knott Skull'' in 1998. The song "Regional Pump" from their 1996 debut ''Harsh and Discord'' appeared in the credits for the Canadian science fiction film '' Laserhawk'', released in 1997. Headtrip To Nowhere
''Headtrip to Nowhere'' is the major label debut album by the Canadian heavy metal band Flybanger. It was released on February 20, 2001, through Columbia Records. The CD is enhanced to include a video of the song "Outlived", not otherwise heard on the disc. The album included two tracks which had been released with the band's ''Outlived'' EP. This album was Flybanger's only major release before disbanding. Overview The album was produced by Matt Wallace, known for his work with Faith No More and Deftones. Two songs feature a guest appearance by the former Faith No More guitarist Jim Martin. The third and final single to be released from the album, "Blind World", was used on the '' Dracula 2000'' film soundtrack. Various subject matters are examined in ''Headtrip to Nowhere''. Tommy Mac (musician)
Tommy Mac (born April 25, 1971) is a Canadian bassist and singer. He was the bassist of the rock band Hedley. Mac currently plays in a band called Day of the Dog as of 2021. Career Before joining Hedley, Mac revealed in an interview that he was in a band called " Jar.". Mac was also in groups such as BigFATScratch and Loco. Mac was a part of a band called Everything After with Dave Rosin and Chris Crippin who would later join Hedley. Tommy Mac joined Hedley as the bassist. Their debut single, " On My Own", reached number one on the Canadian Singles Chart. Throughout his time with the band, they have released 7 albums in which all their albums but '' Cageless'' got certified platinum. Their single " Kiss You Inside Out" peaked at number two on the Canadian Hot 100 which is their highest peaked song on that chart. Gotham Records was an American record label formed by Sam Goode (Goody) and Ivin Ballen in New York City in 1946. In January 1948 Ballen acquired the interest of Goode and became the sole owner. Post-grunge is a derivative of grunge that has a less abrasive or intense tone than traditional grunge. Faith No More
Faith No More is an American rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1979. Before settling on the current name in July 1983, the band performed under the names Sharp Young Men and later Faith No Man. Bassist Billy Gould, keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Roddy Bottum and drummer Mike Bordin are the longest-remaining members of the band, having been involved since its inception. The band underwent several early lineup changes, and some major changes later. The Replacements (band)
The Replacements were an American rock band formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1979. Initially a hardcore punk band, they are one of the main pioneers of alternative rock. The band was composed of the guitarist and vocalist Paul Westerberg, guitarist Bob Stinson, bass guitarist Tommy Stinson and drummer Chris Mars for most of its existence. Following several acclaimed albums, including ''Let It Be'' and '' Tim'', Bob Stinson was kicked out of the band in 1986, and Slim Dunlap joined as lead guitarist. Steve Foley replaced Mars in 1990. Towards the end of the band's career, Westerberg exerted more control over the creative output. The group disbanded in 1991, with the members eventually pursuing various projects.
