Florrie Rodrigo
Flora Juda Rodrigues, known as Florrie Rodrigo, (September 3, 1893 – July 11, 1996) was a Dutch dancer, choreographer, and educator considered to be one of the pioneers of modern dance in the Netherlands . The daughter of Mordechaij Rodrigues and Rebecca Reindorp, both diamond workers, she was born in Amsterdam. She became involved with De Universalisten, an artistic group based in Amsterdam. In 1920, she moved to Berlin. Her performance at an event there led to a month-long engagement at the cabaret Die Rakete. Rodrigo grew in popularity because her style of dance fitted with the Expressionist dance movement in Germany that was prevalent at the time. However, in 1924, due to growing anti-Semitism in Germany, she returned to Amsterdam, where she taught dance during the day and performed in the evenings. Greetje Donker
Maria Margaretha "Greetje" Donker (December 13, 1906 – February 3, 1993) was a Dutch dancer. She was born in Amsterdam. She was associated with Florrie Rodrigo in the group Les Quatres Femmes Rodrigo, and she also performed with Ballet der Lage Landen. She provided the choreography and costume design for ''Modeshow'' by the Scapino Ballet. Donker was a member of the editorial staff for ''De Vonk'', an underground socialist newspaper published during World War II. During the German occupation of the Netherlands, she hid Jews in her home and found shelter for others. In 1986, Donker was named Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center. Donker died in Amsterdam at the age of 86. The Order of Orange-Nassau ( nl, Orde van Oranje-Nassau, links=no) is a civil and military Dutch order of chivalry founded on 4 April 1892 by the queen regent, Emma of the Netherlands. HNLMS De Zeven Provinciën (1909)
HNLMS ''De Zeven Provinciën'' was a Royal Netherlands Navy coastal defence ship in service from 1910 until 1942. It was a small cruiser-sized warship that sacrificed speed and range for armor and armament. She was armed with two 283 mm, four 150 mm, ten 75 mm, four 37 mm guns, in addition to a few 75 mm mortars. She was long, had a beam of and a draft of , and displaced 6,530 tons. She had a crew of 448 and was able to reach 16 knots. She served part of her career in the Dutch East Indies, from 1911 to 1918 and from 1921 onwards. During the 1920s, her crew included the future Rear Admiral Karel Doorman. She suffered a high-profile mutiny on 5 February 1933, which had far-reaching implications for politics in the Netherlands.
