Floris De Vries
Floris Jan Willem de Vries (born 18 August 1989) is a Dutch professional golfer. Career De Vries was born in Rheden and turned professional in 2009 having had a successful amateur career. He qualified for the Challenge Tour by finishing in the top five of the rankings on the EPD Tour, one of Europe's third tier development tours, in 2009. In his rookie season on the Challenge Tour De Vries won the Mugello Tuscany Open, defeating Thorbjørn Olesen in a sudden-death playoff. He ended the season in 4th place on the Challenge Tour Rankings to graduate to the top level European Tour for 2011. De Vries finished his professional playing career in 2014 at the Deutsche Bank Polish Masters Pro Golf Tour Championship on the Pro Golf Tour. He capped his career off with a victory. The 2008 European Amateur Team Championship took place 1–5 July at Royal Park Golf & Country Club in Fiano, Italy. It was the 26th men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. It was the first time the championship was played in consecutive years, since its inauguration in 1959. Venue The club was founded in 1971 by the Agnelli family. The European Amateur Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for men organised by the European Golf Association which was introduced in 1959. The championship was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). 2008 Eisenhower Trophy
The 2008 Eisenhower Trophy took place 16–19 October at Royal Adelaide Golf Club and on the West course at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, Australia. It was the 26th World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy and the second to be held in Australia. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 65 three-man teams. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Each team played two rounds on the two courses. The leading teams played at The Grange Golf Club on the third day and at Royal Adelaide Golf Club on the final day. Scotland won their first Eisenhower Trophy, nine strokes ahead of the United States, who took the silver medal. Sweden took the bronze medal while France and Italy tied for fourth place. Eisenhower Trophy
The Eisenhower Trophy (World Men's Amateur Team Championships) is the biennial World Amateur Team Championship for men organized by the International Golf Federation. Since the tournament was first played in 1958, it is named after Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President of the United States at the time, who was a keen amateur golfer. The equivalent competition for women is the Espirito Santo Trophy. Results The 1958 championship resulted in a tie. There was an 18-hole playoff which Australia won with a score of 222 to the United States 224. From 1958 to 2000 the teams had four players with the best three scores counting for each round. The Jacques Léglise Trophy is an annual amateur boys' team golf competition between Great Britain & Ireland and the Continent of Europe. It was first played in 1977, as a one-day match before the Boys Amateur Championship, but since 1996 it has been played as a separate two-day match. The European Boys' Team Championship (Jean-Louis Dupont Trophy) is a European amateur team golf championship for men up to 18 organized by the European Golf Association. The inaugural event was held in 1980 and it has been played annually since. Since the European Youths' Team Championship, for men under 22, was discontinued in 2006, due to the trend of players reaching elite level at an earlier age, the European Boys' Team Championship has been regarded as the most important junior team event in Europe outside the British Isles. Marcel Schneider (golfer)
Marcel Schneider (born 6 February 1990) is a German professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and the Challenge Tour. He has won three times on the Challenge Tour, the 2018 Swiss Challenge and the 2021 Kaskáda Golf Challenge and Open de Portugal. Amateur career Schneider had a successful year in 2012. At the start of the year, he won the Australian Amateur beating Daniel Nisbet at the 37th hole in the final. During the year he played in the Bonallack Trophy and the St Andrews Trophy and he was part of the German team that took a joint bronze medal in the Eisenhower Trophy in Turkey.
