2008 Eisenhower Trophy
The 2008 Eisenhower Trophy took place 16–19 October at Royal Adelaide Golf Club and on the West course at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide, Australia. It was the 26th World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy and the second to be held in Australia. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 65 three-man teams. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Each team played two rounds on the two courses. The leading teams played at The Grange Golf Club on the third day and at Royal Adelaide Golf Club on the final day. Scotland won their first Eisenhower Trophy, nine strokes ahead of the United States, who took the silver medal. Sweden took the bronze medal while France and Italy tied for fourth place. Emiliano Grillo (; born 14 September 1992) is an Argentine professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He won the 2015 Frys.com Open on the PGA Tour. Early years and amateur career In his youth, Grillo was quarter-finalist at the 2008 U.S. Junior Amateur. He got the 2009 Byron Nelson International Junior Golf Award. Professional career Grillo turned professional in 2011 and earned playing status on the European Tour via Qualifying School. He finished 10th in his first event, the 2012 Africa Open. Morten Ørum Madsen (born 9 April 1988) is a Danish professional golfer. He played on the European Tour from 2013 to 2016, winning the South African Open Championship in late 2013. Early life and amateur career Madsen was born in Silkeborg. He took up golf at the age of 12, and enjoyed a successful amateur career. Lucas Justra Bjerregaard (born 14 August 1991) is a Danish professional golfer who plays the European Tour. In May 2017, playing with Thorbjørn Olesen, they won the inaugural GolfSixes, an unofficial pairs event on the European Tour. Nick Taylor (born April 14, 1988) is a Canadian professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour where he has won twice. Early life and amateur career Taylor was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in Abbotsford, British Columbia. His home golf course is Ledgeview Golf and Country Club. He graduated from the University of Washington and won the 2007 Canadian Amateur Championship. In 2008, Taylor qualified for the U.S. Open, in which he missed the cut by three strokes.
