Field Hockey At The 2020 Summer Olympics
Field hockey at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place from 24 July to 6 August 2021 at the Oi Seaside Park. Twenty-four teams (twelve each for men and women) competed in the tournament. It was originally scheduled to be held in 2020, but on 24 March 2020, the Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Schedule Qualification Each of the Continental Champions from five confederations received an automatic berth. Japan as the host nation qualified automatically. In addition, the remaining six nations were to be determined by an olympic qualification event. As Japan emerged as Asian champion in both men's and women's events, a seventh berth was made available in each qualification event. Oi Hockey Stadium
The Oi Hockey Stadium (Japanese language, Japanese: 大井ホッケー競技場, Ōi hokkē kyōgijō) is a Japan, Japanese field hockey stadium built on the occasion of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. It was inaugurated on August 17, 2019. The stadium is located in the Ōi Futō Chūō Kaihin Park in the Shinagawa district and has a capacity of 15,000 spectators. During the construction of the playing field, attention was paid to sustainability. The synthetic turf on the site is Poligras Tokyo GT, a product of the Sport Group that also produces AstroTurf. The mat consists of sixty percent sugar cane, and needs two-thirds less water than is usual for wetting hockey fields. References

Sébastien Dockier (born 28 December 1989) is a Belgian field hockey player who plays as a forward for Dutch Hoofdklasse club Pinoké. Dockier comes from a real hockey family; not only his father and sister but even aunts and cousins have been playing field hockey. Club career During his youth, he played for Royal Beerschot THC, where he played in the first team until 2014, when he left to play for Dutch club HC Den Bosch. After three seasons with Den Bosch, he went back to his former club. He played there for one season before returning to the Netherlands to play for Den Bosch again. Timothy Daniel Brand (born 29 November 1998) is an Australian field hockey player who plays as a forward for Dutch club Klein Zwitserland and the Australian national team. Brand was born in the Netherlands and grew up in Chatswood, New South Wales. Club career Brand previously played for the NSW Pride in the Hockey One. After the 2020 Summer Olympics he joined Dutch Hoofdklasse club Klein Zwitserland. International career He made his senior international debut in June 2018, in a test series against Germany. Joshua Beltz (born 24 April 1995) is an Australian field hockey player who plays as a defender for the Australia national team and the Tassie Tigers. Personal life Beltz grew up in Hobart, Tasmania. Joshua Beltz also has a younger brother, Hayden, who represents Australia's Under 21 side, the 'Burras'. Career Junior Beltz was first named in the 'Burras' squad in 2016. That year he played in the 2016 Junior Oceania Cup, a qualifier for the Junior World Cup. Daniel James Beale (born 12 February 1993) is an Australian field hockey player. He competed in the Hockey at the 2014 Commonwealth Games – Men's tournament, men's hockey tournament at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where he won a gold medal. Beale was selected in the Kookaburras (hockey), Kookaburras Olympics squad for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Arthur Georges Stanislas Henri Van Doren (born 1 October 1994) is a Belgian field hockey player who plays as a defender for Dutch Hoofdklasse club Bloemendaal and the Belgium national team. Vincent Vanasch (born 21 December 1987) is a Belgian professional field hockey player who plays as a goalkeeper for Orée and the Belgium national team. Club career Vanasch has been involved in hockey from an early age; his father "Jean" created the youth school of the "Royal Evere White Star Hockey Club". Victor Nicky Wegnez (born 25 December 1995) is a Belgian professional field hockey player who plays as a midfielder for Racing Club de Bruxelles and the Belgium national team. Augustin Meurmans
Augustin Jean Meurmans (born 29 May 1997) is a Belgian field hockey player who plays as a midfielder for Racing Club de Bruxelles. International career He was part of the Belgian selection that placed for the final at the 2017 European Championship in Amstelveen. Initially, he was not selected for the 2018 World Cup but he replaced John-John Dohmen later in the tournament who had to withdraw injured. Loïck Fanny Luypaert (born 19 August 1991) is a Belgian field hockey player who plays as a defender for Braxgata and the Belgian national team. He combines his sports career with an educational program of Movement Science at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Club career Luypaert started playing hockey at Braxgata. Antoine Sylvain Kina (born 13 February 1996) is a Belgian professional field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or forward for Gantoise and the Belgium national team.
