Feyzi Mengüç (1894 in İstanbul – 23 June 1966) was the 9th Chief of the General Staff of Turkey. Hakkı Tunaboylu (1895– 23 July 1958) was the 8th Chief of the General Staff of Turkey. He graduated from the military academy and served as artillery officer during World War I. Career Tunaboylu left his position in Ottoman Army and joined the war effort for the independence of Turkey on 31 July 1921. After graduating from the Army War College in 1927, he served in various commands till 1945. In 1945, Brigadier General, Major-General in 1947, Lieutenant General in 1950 and was promoted to the rank of General in 1955. He served as acting Chief of General Staff between 25 August 1955 - 17 September 1955, and as 8th Chief of General Staff until retirement on 3 October 1957. Mustafa Rüştü Erdelhun (1894 9 November 1983) was a Turkish general who served as the 10th chief of the Turkish General Staff in the Turkish Armed Forces from 23 August 1958 to 27 May 1960, and the 9th commander of the Turkish Land Forces from 1 August 1958 to 21 August 1958. He also served as commander of the 18th Corps and the Second Army. He was promoted to the rank of brigadier general in 1945, major general in 1947, lieutenant general in 1952, and general in 1956. Biography A graduate of the Turkish Military Academy in 1914 and as a staff officer in 1926, he was born in Edirne while his parents were born in Romania. They later migrated to Thrace. Turkish Military Academy
The Turkish Military Academy ( tr, Kara Harp Okulu) is a four-year co-educational military academy and part of the National Defence University. It is located in the center of Ankara, Turkey. Its mission is to develop cadets mentally and physically for service as commissioned officers in the Turkish Army, and is the oldest of the academies of the Armed Forces (opened 1834). After 2016 Turkish coup d'état attempt Military academy (along with Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and all the other military educational institutions) became part of the new National Defence University which is formed under Ministry of National Defence.
