Fengxian, Shanghai
Fengxian District, is a suburban district in the south of Shanghai with a land area of , a registered population (as of 2020) of 1,140,872, and 1.5 to 2 times more migrants. It is known for its relative rusticity, as well as its beaches and ocean resorts along the Hangzhou Bay. Bihai Jinsha () is a common place for Shanghainese to spend their weekend. In 2019 some senior citizens in Fengxian District still used the pronunciation "Hongxian". Overview Nanqiao is a major town in Fengxian district, which recent development has more than doubled in size. Line 5 is a north–south rapid transit line of the Shanghai Metro network, running from station in Minhang District in the north to in Fengxian District was originally planned as the Minhang and Fengxian sections of line 1 extending south to Minhang.
