Xidu () is a station on Line 5 of the Shanghai Metro. Located at Xizha Highway and Huhang Highway in the city's Fengxian District, the station is located on the main branch of Line 5 and opened as part of the southern extension of Line 5 on 30 December 2018. Fengxian District
Fengxian District, is a suburban district in the south of Shanghai with a land area of , a registered population (as of 2010) of 1,083,400, and 1.5 to 2 times more migrants. Xidu Town () is a town and the seat of Hengyang County in Hunan, China. The town has an area of with a population of about 170,351 (as of 2010 census). It has 22 villages and 13 communities under its jurisdiction, its seat is ''Huaihua Community'' (). History The name of ''Xidu Town'' may have been first recorded in ''Yuanfeng Jiuyu Zhi'' (; a geographical book by Wang Cun) in the Northern Song dynasty. It means ''crossing the river to the west''. Eastern Zhejiang Canal
The Eastern Zhejiang Canal (; a.k.a. 杭甬運河 (Hangyong Canal)) is located in Zhejiang province, China. Its west end is in Xixing Street, Binjiang District, Hangzhou City, crossing Cao'e River and Shaoxing City to its east end, the Yong River estuary in Ningbo City. The canal is long. Early canal construction took place in the Shanyin old canal in Shaoxing City, during the Spring and Autumn period (approximately 771 to 476 BC). In the third century AD, an official named He Xun supervised the construction of Xixing Canal, establishing the complete Eastern Zhejiang Canal.
